Leicesterlad96 Posted 14 August 2013 Posted 14 August 2013 Me and a group of other lads are trying to decide wether to go to the brazil World Cup or the euros in France, just wondering if any of you guys have been to either tournament before and which would you recommend? The title was supposed to say 2016!!!!!
Leicesterlad96 Posted 14 August 2013 Author Posted 14 August 2013 You're less likely to get shot in France. constructive I put right there! Input
leicesterisme Posted 14 August 2013 Posted 14 August 2013 Depends what kind of money you have? I'm looking to go out for a couple of games at the Euro's, that is obviously going to be a lot cheaper being in France. I would love to go somewhere like Brazil for a world cup but unrealistic money wise.
Swarles Barkley Posted 14 August 2013 Posted 14 August 2013 Havent been to either tournament but been to both places and brazil is a thousand times better. Went to the maracena and it was absolutely amazing. However it was extremely expensive booking flights and hotel and this was 2yrs ago, nevermind during a world cup. If youve got the money then definitely brazil. People are football crazy! Even the cab driver knew leicester due to players like shilton and lineker..
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 August 2013 Posted 14 August 2013 World cup every day of the week, you could still do France as a weekender.
Leicesterlad96 Posted 15 August 2013 Author Posted 15 August 2013 Brazil is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive France it is then any of you lot planning to go? (If we qualify)

Merging Cultures Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 I dont normally say this but, shit thread. Clearly Brazil would be expensive. Wouldn't you have factored that in before trying to decide between the two options.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 France will be superb, England's travelling support will be enormous. I'd probably back that over Brazil if I'm honest, much cheaper and probably a better experience.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 Brazil is the ultimate. There's probably only a World Cup in England that could rival it but for us that wouldn't be such a new experience. When you consider that the two World Cups after Brazil are a bit of a joke (Russia and Qatar), that makes Brazil 2014 the most viable World Cup for the next 13 years at least.
Guest MattP Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 Both will be great. I'd sway towards France tough, probably be 100-150,000 English over for it, could be carnage.
HEGGSY Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 France will be full. Worth going, even if you don't have tickets for the game. As MattP said...carnage will ensue.

I can imagine the streets of Toulouse and Montpellier being absolutely rammed when England are in town, even the big screens will be an event in themselves.
wattolcfc Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 Went to Euro 2012 last summer, and "planning" on doing Brazil this coming summer - if we qualify. It would probably cost you around £3500 for Brazil, if you sort it all independently yourself. (I did the Euro's for £1700) Tickets won't be a problem in Brazil and you'll probably be able to pick up the group games for around £30 each. If we are drawn in the North of Brazil it will work out a couple of hundred quid cheaper too.For France, me and 7 mates are getting a camper van and driving down, stocked up with food and booze so all we have to pay for is petrol and match tickets (I reckon £100 a ticket for the group games AT least with such high demand). All in all, it's a tough decision, as Brazil has the weather, the women, the beaches, the culture and well, it's a World Cup, where as France has the ease of travel and price on it's side, but you'll be lucky if you get a ticket to a game! To sum up, if you're going for the atmosphere and not too bothered about going to games then it's France all day but if you want the whole package then Brazil is a must.

Buying unwanted tickets after the ballots have taken place? FIFA announced pricing recently with cheapest prices for foreigners clocking in at £59 for group games. I'm definitely applying for tickets for Brazil, am in the fortunate position of having friends in Porto Alegre so will apply for all group game tickets at that venue and see what happens.

Yes mate, a lad in the Ukraine said he's been away with England for 30 years and never paid face value for a ticket. If you wait until everyone walks to the ground there are always touts trying to get rid of their last few tickets and will take pretty much anything for them... but I don't have the patience and couldn't relax if I didn't have a ticket. FIFA usually do a "follow your team" ticket which gives you tickets to all the England games dependant on how we get on and obviously you get money back if we don't get through, that's the best value for money.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 15 August 2013 Posted 15 August 2013 Depends if you are bothered about us being there, I can honestly see us failing to qualify for France. You can see us finishing 3rd or 4th in our qualifying group?
Leicesterlad96 Posted 15 August 2013 Author Posted 15 August 2013 Do you have to be some kind of 'England member' or anything to be able to get tickets?

Manwell Pablo Posted 16 August 2013 Posted 16 August 2013 You can see us finishing 3rd or 4th in our qualifying group? Possibly. Not looking great is it we aren't going to get a top seeding looking at the World Rankings, Lampard and Gerrard will be proper getting on the might even retire after the World Cup. We've got **** all coming through besides a lad who has to take every other year out to sort out his "dodgy ankle" (read go into rehab for his coke addiction)
DB11 Posted 16 August 2013 Posted 16 August 2013 Euro's in France would take less organising and be more convenient / drink a lot etc. Brazil would be more memorable and "exotic" but you'd have to keep your guard up 24/7 there.

Brazil really isn't that bad. Much safer than South Africa is. I don't think you'll get many England fans deciding to take a nice stroll through the Favelas just for a laugh.
