Charnwood Norris Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 And what is your favourite boot of all time? I have a new pair of Nike Tiempo Rio bought for 27.95 pound at sportsdirect. Cheap but I don't see the point on splashing out 50+ quid if your not in the 1st team. Favourite boots of all time have to be the Diadora Brasil (kangaroo leather) Umbro Speciali '92 is a nice boot as well. Worn by Shearer and Owen in their primes. Favourite 'modern' boot would be the Mizuno Morelia 190 quid a pop though.
Jordan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 I'm wearing Umbro Speciali R Premier-A now... in black, of course! A solid boot for stolid men--and I only paid $20 for them! Now, I just have to use them more often... The whole Speciali line is excellent--nice call on the '92s. As for the best of all time, nothing beats a well-broken-in pair of Copa Mundials. Classic. I just got a pair of Puma PWR-C 3s for indoor and I hope they will get a few runs out this winter.
goose2010 Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Wear these....... Favourite boot of all time has to be these........ You can still get them brand new on ebay for a cool £399.99
Captain... Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Can I ask why people like the ones they do? What makes those boots better than others? I generally wear cheap ones and never really notice any difference when I've spent a bit more.

I generally wear cheap ones and never really notice any difference when I've spent a bit more. Must admit when i was in my early 20's i used to spend so much money of them just for the name. I always look for the new boots when they come out and am always tempted to buy some (i'm a sucker for marketing) but honestly the boots i wear at the minute are like slippers they are so comfy and i wont change them until i have a blow out.
absolutelegend Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 it appears that the days when players were mocked for wearing white boots have well and truely gone. I noticed quite a few wearing pink on sat. If i were a player I'd wear black boots just to be a bit different and stand out.
Richard Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Anything black. Would like some World Cups but can't justify spending £55 on a pair, i'd rather get a pair of soft and a pair of hard ground. Currently wearing black and red tiempos from last year. Nothing beats the old predators with the tongue on them, wish they were still available.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Were my hard ground boots until they died a painful death this Thursday, £90, think they lasted one calendar year. They were being used three times a week a certain points of the year but still...... Soft ground boots which again weren't cheap and aren't again aren't fairing much better and I've lost a stud on each foot, probably get another 4 games out of them at best. Although they were being used three times a week for large parts of last season, so to be fair they've been warn more than the ones above and they're just about standing. Might leave work early and go boot shopping tonight .
RonnieTodger Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 They were pretty cheap from JJB, but they're as thin as socks.
blueblood88 Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Adidas predators in White, love em best boot ever IMO
Haydos Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Can I ask why people like the ones they do? What makes those boots better than others? I generally wear cheap ones and never really notice any difference when I've spent a bit more. Comfier, look better, last longer, lighter, better material.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 I've always been a Puma King man, always. But some of the new Nike efforts are doing their best to turn my head....
Captain... Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Comfier, look better, last longer, lighter, better material. You talking about those predators? @Ronnie Todger: When you say thin as socks are you saying that as a good thing?
Jordan Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Can I ask why people like the ones they do? What makes those boots better than others? I generally wear cheap ones and never really notice any difference when I've spent a bit more. When I used to wear really cheap boots as a kid (Patrick, Mitre, etc.), I used to get Achilles tendinitis every season. Even the cheapest boots are a little better these days, but IMO it's worth it to step up to a mid-level boot that fits better just because of this. I would never spend hundreds on a pair of boots but then again, I'd never need to. it appears that the days when players were mocked for wearing white boots have well and truely gone. I noticed quite a few wearing pink on sat. If i were a player I'd wear black boots just to be a bit different and stand out. Hear, hear!
Ashley Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 Need some screw in moulds for my Adidas world cups, any ideas? Who runs St Mags on Mondays and Wednesday leagues are being pricks.
Haydos Posted 4 September 2013 Posted 4 September 2013 You talking about those predators? @Ronnie Todger: When you say thin as socks are you saying that as a good thing? Just my experience of more expensive boots in general. I had some Tiempos as well that were comfy as hell. I've had some £30 Mizunos and some £30 Nike ones and they were both a bit average and didn't last more than a couple of seasons.
Jordan Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 Are you all full kit w&nkers? No; I wear my football boots to work on days when I dress in a smart blue pinstriped suit.
cambridgefox Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 Rosa Klebb'sThats pussy in boots in my eyes!
