I have no problems with homosexuals(the word gay means happy), but to integrate it with sport is ludicrous. My stepson is a homosexual, and I accept it, but to expose to children, as normal behaviour, (and we have them watching football), is a bloody disgrace, and little short of disgusting.

If people are homosexual, or lesbian inclined, so be it, but don't promote natures sexually flawed humanoids.

Why is homosexuality a flaw? It affects nothing about a person but their sexual inclination. It certainly doesn't make them lesser. Look at us, I'm gay and you're straight yet you're a judgemental cvnt. 

The point of the campaign is to show gay players that football is ready for them to be more open about their sexuality. 

Children learn hatred and bigotry, it isn't ingrained in them. Homosexuality is common in thousands of species - Homophobia is a human concept.

You are not accepting of your step-son if you continue to mock him like that. You're simply awful. 

Lets draw attention to ourselves because we are such a hard done by minority.

I've never met a persecuted gay in my life. Not sure what their problems are really.

 

Do they find it hard to get a job? No.

 

Can't they go out and do their thing on a Friday and Saturday night? Yes they can.

Gay people don't have it as easy as straight people and this thread is showing it.

I feel sick to my stomach reading these comments. I have to read and hear and experience these hurtful comments from people about similar people to me just because they don't understand my sexuality.

I didn't choose to be gay. But you choose to discriminate and be hateful. Homosexuality doesn't affect others. 

All over the world, gay people are spat on, mocked, picked on, berated, patronised to and even arrested and put to death just for having a romantic attraction to their own gender.

It's exactly the same as racism. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it's wrong or that gay people are sick excuses of humanoids.

The amount of gay youths that kill themselves each year because of comments like this and people still go on about it. It's not something to be scoffed it - it's serious.

I have to hear shit from people all the time, stereotypical 'banter' that cuts deeper because knuckle-draggers like some on here think being gay is wrong  - if you think that, keep it to yourself, it does no good to me having to hear that when I can't change if I wanted to or if I tried. 

It's actually scary for me having to tell my family and friends something about myself, and risking them reject me and ostracise me from their lives. The campaign is to show that football is ready for equality but apparently it isn't.

No one is asking for 'special treatment' just 'equal treatment' and if you hate me or any other gay person, mock us or think we're lesser just from that very fact then you are a total twat.

Sport is a fantastic tool that can be used to tackle homophobia, racism, sexism and all other forms of discrimination. All are clearly problems that exist among sections of football fans (as this debate has proved) and it's absolutely vital that something is done to try and educate these morons.

I think the comments in this thread show exactly why this campaign exists and why there are virtually no openly gay footballers.

@DT this is not promoting homosexuality, it is promoting acceptance and that should be promoted at a very early age to all children, and even some old gits stuck in their backwards ways. Is the point being missed here the laces (albeit a marketing gimmic for a bookies) are aimed at representing homosexuality IN FOOTBALL... If you consider the laddish nature of most fans is the aim not to remove the boundaries and make homosexuality more acceptable by those who play and watch the game?

I also can't help thinking this is also a massive dig at FIFA who have chosen two of the biggest homophobic countries in the world to stage the World Cup ignoring inclusivity to blatantly line there own personal pockets.

Apologies if any of my comments upset you last night, tbh i was only mucking around. I dont want to add torment to anyones own personal tragedys. My missus has a close friend who is gay and he did tell me how tough it was before he came out and told his friends and family. You need to do this, it will let you know where you stand. give people time to come round to it aswel dont expect immeadiate acceptance and understanding but those who love will show it soon enough. I have children and whilst i hope they arent gay ( to save them from extra predjudice), i would love them all the same whatever.

The point I was making is people who have a sexual preference for kids, what is that then?

There is a difference, its called consent. A child cannot consent until at the required age set by the government. They might lower or raise it but can you really see it being abolished, no!
