Agree with most of this, but will have to agree to disagree on points, nugent has been off form for 9 months and wood looked 10x the player when he came on, give him another chance, god knows nugent has had enough. 2 seasons. Top scorer both times. Looking good for being so 3rd season in a row. We can all use manipulative facts Lee. Even so, he scored in January so your little fact is wrong. Can't actually believe you've just said you were disappointed that he'd scored! Totally embarrassing - You're basing your facts on emotional support as well, clearly.

He then jogged about for the rest of the match. I've seen berbatov defending. Just because nugent made the first 80 yard run of his career to defend that means he is superhuman and the most energetic player on the pitch classic. He's lazy, 3 times we had a goal kick come out to midfield, but the midfield didn't flick it on as nugent was still walking back from goal. that's laziness. Did you not see king having a go at him when he could of flicked him through? the ball had been in play, gone from the bournemouth goal down to our goal, gone out for a goal kick, then been kicked back into play, and nugent was STILL offside... Vardy was poised further across the pitch, if you had swapped vardy/wood with nugent in that situation we would of been through, Nugent is far from energetic.

He has scored 2 from open play and 4 in 40 away appearances, and has been off form since January. He scored a well taken goal on Saturday but apart from that was more of a hindrance. do me a favor bert? Save this. and next time you accuse me of not appreciating others opinions, Read this, then go onto my posts and read them, and see that I am only of the only people on here that actually try and structure an argument based on what a player has done RIGHT and WRONG. Not just a blind emotional opinion then making excuses. I stand by my opinion on him, and in a way I have egg on my face as he scored a quality finish, But I was also proven right completely. He was lazy as he has been since january, and didnt do enough for the team. But the poor soul had a stomach bug. thank god He's not on a rugby pitch, Im sure the likes of alan young wouldnt have complained of made excuses, unfortunately although a stomach bug may be seen as a relevant EXCUSE for an all round poor game, it doesnt excuse 9 months of it. You crack me up Lee, wood was very poor at the end of last season (suspect knee?) and has not been an option for the most of this season.Nugent since he has been at the club had always looked to have fitness issues BUT even when he has looked jaded and dog tried has got on and played when needed. So a lose of form at the end if last season was no surprise and maybe he should not have been playing but we don't have all the details do we? If you follow the logic of he is just going through the motions then surely Pearson would have bench him ? What you don't seem to what to consider is that he is one of our senior players and therefore in some peoples eyes his influence is important as well. Stats are stats but only show part of the picture, the only ture test is how the whole team is playing.

Yeah but it's funny watching Lee make himself look a plank. right now on his goalscoring form for us from open play, I'm being made to look correct as well as being lazy, and not adding much to the team for most of his appearances, are we saying that he merits his 30k a week now? He can be replaced, with a cheaper, BETTER alternative.

Ok, I get your point, although, statistics generally can be manipulated to making/breaking an argument. And although those statistics aren't great, it would be interesting how many lost causes he chased, how many assists, how many headers from a corner/free-kick etc. He is definitely not himself of late, whether that's illness, late nights, lack of a contract offer making him nervous we'll never know. That said, your little vendetta against him is a little disproportionate, when you keep harping on about people slating Gallagher. Gallagher offers a lot less than Nugent, considering Nugent has been top scorer for the last two seasons.

No, I open my eyes when I watch football I don't just watch, pass, pass, pass, goal. I try to look out for, pass, positioning, movement off the ball, movement on the ball, vision, determination. Nugent is some of those, but not most, Passing he is good, finishing he shows sparks of brilliance but average most of the time, Positioning is normally woeful, but he gets so many chances he looks ok, Movement on the ball is good, off the ball ok. Vision is terrible, determination is terrible. All round he is top quality for us on his day, his day was in january. pre january I could say not much wrong, he was classy. Post january, he has been ok at very best. watch him on tuesday, watch his running (If he plays) he will run 2-3 times and make some effort, the rest of the game hes walking about and jogging everywhere. Then compare to vardy

(As were most of our squad INCLUDING WOOD) January ....1 February .....2 March .....3 April ....4 May ....5 August ....6 September ....7 October ....8 wood has made a few appearances since the bad run, and has looked better. by a mile.
