MikeyT Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Schmeichel ©; Moore, Wasilewski, Miquel, Bakayogo; Hammond, James, Drinkwater; GTF, Hopper, Schlupp. Subs: De Laet, Konchesky, Whitbread, Dyer, Knockaert, Logan, Nugent.
Corky Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Midfield looks strong, defence ok, attack not convinced at all.

GingerrrFox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Defence is solid, Midfield is experienced and solid, Strikers are youthful and energetic. Win 2-1.
lcfc will Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Alright team choice I suppose, would maybe have given Moore a rest and that attack doesn't look great, can't see where the goals will come from. Anyway, good luck to Tom Hopper, nice to see him get his chance.
Harry - LCFC Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Forwards haven't even played a game between them this season have they? (Schlupp at LB doesn't count) Glad we've gone for a decent midfield, we'll need them to perform I imagine. wood injured?? Yep, hamstring. Minor problem, should be back soonish.
NorthernFox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 I was worried as to how much Nige would tinker with but I am happy with that line up. Should hopefully be strong enough for Round 4.
svensson Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Nice to see the academy players getting a run out.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 So Nige is fielding a weaker side like he did last season. Let's hope we don't fook it up again.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 How does the defence look solid? We've got a youngster, a debutant, a loanee and a player desperately short of matches!
Harry - LCFC Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Derby's team: Grant (GK), Freeman, Keogh, Buxton, Forsyth, Coutts, Bryson, Hughes, Russell Sammon, Martin First team basically. Just to give you an indication, here's their team that played against Reading on Saturday. Grant (GK), Smith, Keogh, Buxton, Forsyth, Eustace, Bryson, Hughes, Ward, Russell, Martin Only three changes and Ward's good enough for the first team anyway.
Brainy Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 How does the defence look solid? We've got a youngster, a debutant, a loanee and a player desperately short of matches! Exactly, not too bothered but that team is far from convincing. Thought he'd tinker but this is extreme

We have promotion as priority rather than Derby who will probably see getting into the quarter finals as winning the champions league.
Kitchandro Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Do we have any intention of using Schlupp or Hopper up front in any league games?
HoustonFox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Once again Nigel being damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. How many people have been crying out with the following: "What's the point in Bakayogo if he doesn't play him?" "Why doesn't he play Schlupp up front?" "When's Wasyl going to play?" "Stick Hammond in holding mid, we need one" "Give the academy boys a go" He's doing all of them. It's not the league and we need to blood them sometime and this is a good opportunity to see if they cut it against a Championship side almost playing their first team.
Kitchandro Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Derby are a nothing club. We have promotion as priority rather than Derby who will probably see getting into the quarter finals as winning the champions league. Still, I'd rather we take every match seriously. Do we not remember what happened to our positive momentum when we put out weaker sides against Huddersfield last season? We better not roll over, not against these.
sylofox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 So Nige is fielding a weaker side like he did last season. Let's hope we don't fook it up again. Don't care yes don't want them having bragging rights really. But 3pts sat means more than this will ever do. Are we gonna win it Not really rather it was sunderland or someone like that. But out and points in the bag sat and no distractions till the fa cup is better to me.
lgfualol Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Glad Hopper is getting a shot. Should be a good one.
NewquayFox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Win every game, get a winning mentality and keep going, 4.2 to City tonight in a cracking game... ;0)
Guest MattP Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 It's clear now Raindrops will never fall on Filbert Way again. Happy with the team, if we lose so be it, if we win even our reserves can beat Derby.

Bang on, should be a good test for the lads coming in. Really pleased he is mixing it up and for 3 academy players to be involved.
