Weller in Tights Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Lineker could've been a county cricketer, he was excellent at schoolboy level. A lot of cricketers are into their football. Some people think the link is Rugby and Cricket, but I've found cricketers are more into their football.
Leicesterpool Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Could be wrong but i'm sure i've read somewhere Ian Bell in his teen years was playing football?
stripeyfox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 I think Phil Neville was a very decent cricketer and could well have made a career of it, but opted for football
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Grayson was from good cricketing stock
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Saw Graham Cross, Chris Balderstone (Carlisle) play for L.C.C.C. Also Jim Standen (West Ham goalkeeper, and Worc, wkt keeper.)
Brenfox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 I remember Mike Newell playing cricket for someone whilst he was here
Ross-Kemp Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Could be wrong but i'm sure i've read somewhere Ian Bell in his teen years was playing football?Well you're normally wrong.
mikey54 Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Ted Hemsley was a full back at Sheffield United and like the previously mentioned Jim Standen, played cricket for worcs (about the same time)
????? Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Apparently Chris Wood is pretty good and could have been a pro!
Corky Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Apparently Chris Wood is pretty good and could have been a pro! Given New Zealand's general batting performances, he could probably play for them now.
Stadt Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Apparently Chris Wood is pretty good and could have been a pro!I'm sure if you play sports in New Zealand, and those sports aren't Rugby you're 'pretty good'
