Mr.X Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 It was either a brilliant goal by Wood where he used his talent to scored using his face, or the goalkeeper simply simply made a mistake which resulted in a goal. Or it could be a bit of both, where Wood took advantage of a opportunity that was made available to him.

Fox92 Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 He could have easily ducked so it didn't hit him. So, fair play to him.

sylofox Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 pure fluke but brilliant too. Almunia could of hit it over Wood or wide of him but no drilled it at hit. Wood had no control over the header as he did not know anything about it. It could have gone anywhere but lucky for us Wood scored in a small town near Luton

Fox92 Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 Shows the benefit of closing a lazy goalkeeper down... Is he right footed? Pretty sure he could have launched it right footed. If was so soft what he did.
Super_horns Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 Left I think - personally think most footballers at that level should be able to use either foot but I know many don't
Vlad the Fox Posted 3 November 2013 Share Posted 3 November 2013 You could tell by the way he didn't go tear arsing into the keeper that he was holding back to allow time for him to react and place the ball out of the keepers reach. Brilliance I say.
Mr.X Posted 4 November 2013 Author Share Posted 4 November 2013 Shows the benefit of closing a lazy goalkeeper down... You could have a point there, as many players wouldn't have moved towards the goalkeeper as Wood did
Finnegan Posted 4 November 2013 Share Posted 4 November 2013 I was once at Franklins Gardens for a playoff game, Tigers Sarries. Freddie Tuilagi charged down a kick with his face so powerfully it went flying back and through the posts. Unfortunately, the ref didn't give it. Apparently you can't score a drop goal with your face. Still amazing, though.
