Beliall Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I think we're playing the waiting game.. Some of the players are out of contract in the summer, as is Pearson. I think the Thais are being cautious... Waiting to see how the next few games go. IF we go up, expect a fairly radical change to the playing personnel and money spent. If we don't go up.... Well I don't even want to think about it! I think Kasper, Nuge and others will be gone and maybe Nige too. To consolidate our future, we really do need to get promotion this season. i hope your wrong, if we fail to win promotion, i hope that we keep pearson, as well as the others but you're probably right about kasper at least
cjslcfc Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Only need a couple of loans imo. Just worry if we get a couple of key injuries our squad is fairly thin. He also has experience of getting promoted which won't hurt. I'm not suggesting we sign any tom, dick or harry but a think Dorrans would be a shrewd signing By key injuries I am guessing you mean the possibility of having something like Wes, Drinkwater and Nugent out at the same time or something to that extent. In that case we can just bring James/Hammond, Wood and Miquel in. I think our squad is strong and has a fair amount of depth. Even the teams with the strongest squads will struggle should 6 or 7 of their regulars be out for a while. Think about it, we had De Laet, Konchesky and Vardy out on Saturday and didn't even bat an eyelid. As we know it's hard to keep a big squad happy and bringing in a couple more faces in case of lots of injuries could turn out to be something which disrupts the team ethic and the spirit we have going. Let's face it, loan players are not going to be happy coming in to just sit on the bench and wait. They come on loan to get some game time! At the moment I say let's leave it as it is. Unless we can find the right winger to push Knocky and Dyer on, who has pace. I agree with all posters saying we need pace, especially on the right hand side of midfield. The wing is the only place I feel we need to strengthen

Just thought Dorrans would be a quality loan signing who can play in a number of positions including right mid. I do however agree that we could do with signing somebody with pace. We are a bit short on both wings to be fair
Happy Fox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Left side we have enough options I think Schlupp could easily be a left winger however right side we are definitely lacking
Ric Flair Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Now that Arsenal are out of the League Cup i'd try and get Eisfield off them for a couple of months. He'll not feature for them until the FA Cup at the earliest. He'd be perfect for us at right wing to provide competition for Tony.
kingfox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Yeah we could do with a winger, surprised we haven't brought one in for competition. Just shows with a few injuries, the likes of Bakayogo & Hopper have to come on the bench, which then makes it weaker.
Bayfox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 isn't bamford already on loan at Brentford or someone?
Oshhhh Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Could we get Iago aspas in on loan he as said he would like to leave on loan to get regular game time
Stadt Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Could we get Iago aspas in on loan he as said he would like to leave on loan to get regular game timeI doubt he'd want to come here and I'd doubt Liverpool would send him here and I also doubt Pearson would go in for him.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 The only player in the starting XI I don't think we could replace adequately with any of the back-ups is Knockaert
conLAD logan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 realistically i can see us going in for another player on a free just for cover for knockaert. Stephen Hunt could be the sort of player to come in as we can probably afford his wages and would offer great competition for knockaert and keep him on his toes.
whoareyaaa Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I think Pearson will maybe bring in one or two in January, I think he will asses the fitness levels of the squad first though so I don't think he would be making a decision just yet. We have done well to bring in GTF, Waswelki and Hammond for 500k so he may not dabble in Jan and just stick.
Happy Fox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Raheem Sterling? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-raheem-sterling-out-2688010? Liverpool are set to spark a January transfer stampede by allowing Raheem Sterling to leave on loan. Mirrorfootball understands the Reds are looking for an experienced replacement for the teenage winger, with Sporting Lisbon's Spanish international Diego Capel under consideration. Once that man is found, England Under-21 and full international Sterling, will be allowed to join a Premier League or Championship club able to give him regular first-team football.
foxfanazer Posted 7 November 2013 Author Posted 7 November 2013 Graham Dorrans . No thanks.Great post
Father Ted Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I genuinely feel that we're one decent winger away from having a full squad. A pacy, tricky winger who can play on the left or the right because lets not kid ourselves, Lloyd and Tony will begin to wear out eventually, we can't keep playing both at full pelt for 90 minutes, 46 games a season - as much as we'd love to, it's not physically possible.
Guest MattP Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Am I the only one who thinks Raheem Sterling is overrated as fcuk?
