foxfanazer Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Just seen that Reading are after Graham Dorrans on loan. Would be a great signing imo. Versatile and very consistent. The sort of player I'd like to see us bring in to strengthen the squad and give us different options. Watford want Bamford from Chelsea on loan as well. Good goal scoring record this season
Unabomber Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I think we are ok in central midfield even if Dorrans is a different kind of player. I wouldn't mind us bringing in a right winger on loan though to give us another option there.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 This is the 'stick or twist' scenario buddy. We're second, but clearly are trying to keep the wage bill down. Do we: A. Speculate to accumulate and sign a couple of players who MAY? drag us over the line? B. Stick with what we have, keep the wage bill down and hope what we have will be enough. You choose... Personally, I like pace... I think we're a better side with pace in it. I'd like to see a quick right winger brought in.

Fox42 Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 We're fine for now. People need to realise that if we're on a good run there's no need to go that one bit further, it's extremely risky. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Leicester_Numan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 We're still playing safety first and at least being within range of getting under FFP so unless there's a long term injury to Schmeichel, Dyer or Knockaert, I can't see anything happening on the transfer front till January. We're covered everywhere else at the moment

Just worry if we get a couple of key injuries our squad is fairly thin. He also has experience of getting promoted which won't hurt. I'm not suggesting we sign any tom, dick or harry but a think Dorrans would be a shrewd signing

Agree to an extent but we all know too well how quick it can 'break'
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I think we're playing the waiting game.. Some of the players are out of contract in the summer, as is Pearson. I think the Thais are being cautious... Waiting to see how the next few games go. IF we go up, expect a fairly radical change to the playing personnel and money spent. If we don't go up.... Well I don't even want to think about it! I think Kasper, Nuge and others will be gone and maybe Nige too. To consolidate our future, we really do need to get promotion this season.
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I'd like a young winger on loan from the PL. Someone with some pace and a bit of cockyness whose club wouldn't want much as long as he was getting first team exposure. That's about it, though, at the minute. Save the loans for injury cover if needs be.
indierich06 Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Dorrans would be an incredible signing for us. I'm a big, big fan of our midfield, but this guy is absolute quality.
Unabomber Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Dorrans plays on the right also I know, but I was thinking more of an out and out winger.

Dan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Someone like Suso from Liverpool. Don't know whats happened to him though Gone out on loan to Elche I think.
Guest MattP Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Quite content with the squad we have. Unless it's someone of serious ability available I wouldn't bother.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." We didn't fix it last January and look what happened. Bloody stupid saying.
Happy Fox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 A young pacey winger someone like Ibe, Gnarby would do imo.

Finnegan Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 A young pacey winger someone like Ibe, Gnarby would do imo. Gnabry? You've not been following Arsenal this season have you?
Guest MattP Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Gnabry? You've not been following Arsenal this season have you? Let's get Ozil on loan while we're at it.
Unabomber Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Gnabry? You've not been following Arsenal this season have you? He's only in the Arsenal first team squad, of course he would rather be warming our bench.
Babylon Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 I'd like to see a quick right winger brought in. Spot on... only place at the minute that's screaming for someone else.
Ross-Kemp Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Completely agree with what Finners said. A quick nippy right winger and I think the squad would be complete.
tommyh Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 to be faIr to happy fox, Gnarby is only getting playing time because the links of Walcott and the Ox and others are all out injured. dont think he would have got a look in they were fit so if they are all fit by say end of Dec & playing again then why not?! Raheem Sterling too, by no means a first team regular and was mentioned about him going on loan to Bolton i think it was in the summer. If there was that little bit of money in the post tho to buy a player, id love Chris Eagles, but maybe that is a bit too far
