Parafox Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 I don't follow where he has insulted you here? If you'd care to check, he has made a jibe at my family. And if you're suggesting my responses to him are insulting, how do you describe the insults he throws at those who don't agree or take issue with some of his posts and comments? He once accused my daughter, who has mental health issues as "basically a scrounging thug". Among other nasty remarks to many on here. edit: Just seen that his insult to me has been removed (thank you AoWW) as has my response to him in which I said I actually saw the point he was trying to make but I pointed out that I took exception to his comment about my family.
iniesta Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 I don't think for any minute a life in social housing is as glamorous as some of you seem to believe it is. However you cannot argue with the fact that social housing with spare bedrooms, is wasteful. I work 50+ hours a week, live in shared accommodation, and I would love my own place but in London it is not feasible.... Unless you have lots children, sitting on your fat arse all day drinking cans of strongbox and chain smoking
21st Century Fox Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Is this Ken's most successful thread? More than 2 replies and the downfall of his arch nemesis! I like to think that Ken's sat in a room with documents plastered all over the walls with string pinned to them as he engined the perfect thread that would tip Moose over the edge. Is Ken now going to start making loads of sense and perform the internet forum equivalent of the Verbal Kint walkaway!?

Mike Oxlong Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 I'm out! Well, I sincerely hope you're downsizing then.
Mike Oxlong Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 You're all a bunch of anuses.( just testing AOWW's line that it's ok to throw insults so long as you don't bring family into it ) Edit re AOWW's earlier sabotage - at first I didn't know whether to laugh or flounce but calling someone a "cute little kitten" really is crossing the line. Awaits further moderation
Zingari Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 You're all a bunch of Roger Chapmans ( just testing AOWW's line that it's ok to throw insults so long as you don't bring family into it )

Mike Oxlong Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Can't you laugh and flounce at the same time? I'm disappointed in you - you need to work on your diva-skills. Due to incredibly high levels of testosterone I simply cannot multi-task
The Don Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 The people in private housing with housing benefit are capped at a level on average prices per the amount of bedrooms needed.I dont see how it is unfair for the same sort of process on social housing.A blanket "tax" on all social housing that fit the criteria is wrong.Maybe we should build better and more retirement housing, where care could be given better and cheaper than having carers coming to 1 old lady for example in a 3 bed house.
Zingari Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Sorry Zing but that one's a WHOOSH ????? Roger Chapman was lead singer with famous 70's Leicester group "Family" .( hit songs Burlesque, Weaver's Answer , In My Own Time etc etc ) So it was a joke about not bringing "family" into it crap joke anyway and posted at midnight after returning from pub

Sounds like a good sessionðŸ»

Mike Oxlong Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Family were like the Kasabian of the 70's Oh right. Pans People and Olivia Newton John have a place in the wank bank but that's about as far as my memory of the 70s go. Oh yes, and I do like me some Jason King but not in the same way.
21st Century Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Family were like the Kasabian of the 70's My dad's got some Family albums. I remember liking The Weaver's Answer but laughing because Roger Chapman sounded like a singing goat. I knew they were from Leicester but I had no idea they had a City theme album cover! I have to get that! Thanks Zing.
The Blur Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Well some have moved so it is working, those that have moved will have saved us money, it's not ust about housing, as absolute legend says this should be a kick up the arse for people to move in with family and friends if they can, we have spare rooms that need to be filled before we can start using spare houses. What's the point of more Social housing anyway while we are in the EU and will come under their freedom of movement policy? Completely pointless while we are going to be opening up borders to countries with a average wage in a month less than ours is in a week, you'd just be encouraging more mass unskilled migration. It would be a smart to make sure you have control over the number of people you allow to live in the country before you start building houses for those people. Otherwise everything you are doing will be a guess and probably not enough while you are writing blank cheques. You have got to stop this, 3 or 4 times now you have came into a political argument and started name calling because you disagree with someone. Do people on benefits actually regard what they given as "income"? Jesus, they should be doing walks of shame before collecting it and be booed and hissed by taxpayers. I am sorry but that is a bigoted view of people on benefits, not all of us enjoy being on benefits and we do look for work. No wonder this country love punishing the poor if people like you think like that.

No wonder this country love punishing the poor if people like you think like that. The last bit was tongue in cheek, I still don't understand how it could be constructed as "bigoted" though? Good for you if you don't like it, that's what I like to hear, that's the attitude and motivation you need to get off it, some people actually are happy on it and I dread to think what sort of mindset they are in, it should be seen as something undesireable, it should never been seenas a lifestyle choice, it should be there to help people when they can't find work. Punishing the poor? You need to do a bit of travelling if you seriously think that, we live in a country that gives you a payment that puts you in the top 10% of the Worlds earners even if you don't do anything that is paid for by everybody else. Imagine going to Manilla, telling them that and saying how terrible our governments are at the minute, I;m not sure if they would laugh with hysteria or cry with disgust.

I don't realise it was a joke though I did thought it was out of character for you as you normally make your points much more articulately than that. I should have listened to my guts!Yes, I am aware we are much better off than third world countries. I have been to few of them but the treatment of people on benefits can be shocking. I heard the other week about a man who was docked his JSA for twelve weeks because he missed his appointment to go to an interview. Only if the world has bit more common sense and is more fairer then the concept of being poor regardless of where you live don't have to exist but that is wishful thinking eh!

I'm not really too sure of the relevance of that but; The only reason we have government better than that in Manilla and many other countries is because the common people have been continually prepared to take action against them through the worker's unions and other collective goal civil unrest. If we had laid back and taken it like the developing industrial nations are at the moment we would still be treated with equal contempt. As a generation living in the UK in the present we are very lucky and should be extremely grateful for the work and bravery of out ancestors who were prepared to stand up to the injustice that's now being forced onto lesser developed nations . The ruling classes in the UK gave us, and will give us nothing without a fight and neither will any rulers in the world. , This generation gradually seems to be getting apathetic and stupid enough to let them take it away again piece by piece.
