Bluearmy 316 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Who thought we would be in this position at the start of the season. A bad run was bound to happen at some point. If we can beat burnley at home and get a draw at qpr we will be back in the top 2. Today was all down to poor defending not tactics. Give the team a break. We will regroup and go again

We will regroup and go again I see the sentiment and I certainly would've taken this position but it doesn't mean we should brush off bad performances and expect better. There will be overreactions but the constructive comments should be taken on board.

Monsell1976 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It's not the results that bothered me so much, it's the performance, leaky defence, lacklustre midfield and lack of striking threat is what bothers me. This is two poor games that needs to be forgotten about quickly before the rot sets in again. Mistakes have been made by management and players alike, but now it's the time to regroup, not lick our wounds for to long, and steady the ship against burnley and qpr, as I don't think I can handle us bottling it again.
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Need to stand up now and show the league what we are made of don't want City bottlers which we are accustomed to every f**king season gone by NP needs to show his mettle, season defining week for City starts next Saturday. 6 points is needed.
lgfualol Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 To be fair, I thought we'd come 6-8th. You have put things into perspective.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Here's my perspective. Nigel Pearson and his scouting team have an excellent eye for a player. They also manage their squads really well imo. However, he (and we) will fail at the third attempt if he does not marry our home form with our away form, in terms of equalising the two, to an extent, over the longer term. If we are to get top two and avoid the lottery of the play offs, we MUST stop going to games like the last two and almost know right from the off, that we are not going to come away with a result. That's Pearson's real test.
Charl91 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 We had the "perspective" threads last time too at the time of our decline. It started as "well at the start of the season I'd have loved to finish second". Then "look, we're only a few points of automatic!". That gradually turned into "well, at the start of the season I never expected us to finish below the play-offs" before eventually finishing as "well, we've improved from last year" (just before we actually did sneak into the play-offs). But the reality is, we all know that is bollocks. Your "perspective" changes as the season progresses. If you spend most of the season in the relegation zone, then you're going to be bloody ecstatic if you finish mid-table. Similarly, if you hit top spot, then you're going to be very disappointed if you finish in the play-offs. Pre-season expectation is pretty irrelevant, as it's mostly guesswork.
JadeFalcon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 tactic's weren't the problem, as i see it sending too many men forward and then doing very little with them and then counter attacking us on the break with 1-2 mendue to ours being so far forward was opening us wide unfortunatly
Bettsj2 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Makes a change for us to be caught on the break!! At the end of the day, nobody can call the last two performances anything other than dogshit. We were bound to have a blip as every team does. Burnley and QPR had theirs a couple of weeks ago which saw us overtake them both and go 3 points clear. If however we are a different prospect this season and not going to bottle it, we MUST beat Burnley next week. If not, the belief of the crowd will evaporate and once the negativity overtakes the positivity, things could go downhill quickly. The two defeats wouldnt have bothered many if they'd have been competitive defeats but in both games we were complete shit. We need to be positive next week. Kasper Moore. Wes. Miquel. Konch Knocky. Drinky. King. Dyer Wood. Vardy
lgfualol Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Kasper Moore. Wes. Miquel. Konch Knocky. Drinky. King. Dyer Wood. Vardy This, or De Laet, wes, moore, konch in defence would be ideal.
dedlock Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 One point for a draw means winning but losing a few is better than not getting beat. We are where we are, despite 5 losses ,because we have most wins in the divisIon . The losses away this week are more chacteristic of last seasons away form than the good start so far this season. What surprises me,in view of missed chances,is we are the division's 2nd highest scorers. The next 2 League games are against the tightest defences. Time to improve the chance conversion rate!

Anyone know why Knockaert didn't start? Has he had a Knock? No pun intended!! Or was it just bad managing?

Anyone know why Knockaert didn't start? Has he had a Knock? No pun intended!! Or was it just bad managing? I can understand the logic behind not playing him if the team picked played to optimum level. We set up with a pacey attack and a robust midfield so we were looking to play on the break and Knocky wouldnt really have helped that. The problem today was everyone on the pitch was shit. If we had a gaurantee that the rest of the midfield would perform to a high level, i'd never drop Knocky but unfortunately we dont have that luxury.

Donut Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Were still in an excellent position. Lets learn from the past week, and go again. The QPR and Burnley games for me arent ''must win'' games, there will be MANY dropped points between now and then end of the season. As long as we have a 2 points a game ratio at the end of the season, who the points come against is irrelevant for me. That SHOULD be enough to get us into that magical top 2.
ImBlue Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Honestly, these perspective threads just wind me up after a bad game although I know they are supposed to make me feel better. We have QPR, Burnley and Reading in 3 of our next 4 league games. there might not be too much perspective after these if we do not buck our ideas up!
ImBlue Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Let me add something else. How many players can speak to other clubs in January? Great time to hit a purple patch. QPR, Reading, Burnley and Man City in the next 5 games. this could start putting us back down with the pack and having players heads turning. If they go, I will hold Pearson ultimately responsible.

h block Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I can't believe the panic on here from you Leicester fans. You could easily have got a point today against a Brighton side who were playing pretty well. Your main problem is your away support it seems..............absolutely dreadful. Even Forest made more noise than you although to be fair they did sell out their end.
Bayfox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I think the main worry is that it's that time of year again. If the fans are thinking it then it must play on the players minds as well. we need to show something in the next 3 league games that shows we haven't hit a mental barrier. I do however think that if delaet is still not fit then we need moore to come back in a right back and stop tinkering with the back 4.
formidable1 Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 As far as im aware the away support aren't paid to play football, defend, score and play as a team. Not sure the fans are to blame numpty.
