Foxes1 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Is this another player who for some reason NP thinks needs a rest, he's a young lad and should be playing in the side he has looked comfortable at both full back and alongside Morgan in the centre of defence, but since being picked for the England under 21's he has fallen out of favour. Lets face it earlier in the season he was our best performer. Is it because NP is under pressure from Arsenal for him to play Miguel and now Marcin is at fullback we have no pace at right back. With De Laet coming back to fitness it's time to put De Laet back in the team and restore Liam Moore to centre back alongside Morgan.
StanSP Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Was came in and played well. Also think the Arsenal point has some truth in it. But I think it'd be unfair of other clubs to dictate who we play especially when our actual players are doing well. Don't think De Laet will be fully fit for the Burnley match.
davieG Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I think Miquel is in there because he's a left footed centreback, Morgan is substandard in that position.
Bert Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Don't think there's any pressure from Arsenal for him to play Miquel. He had a good half against Ipswich after Moore was poor and has been playing better than Wes since, along with the fact Miquel is gonna get released by Arsenal at the end of the season.
Fatbloke Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Richie is fit and ready to play should be in the team for the Burnley game, the sooner the better !!
Johnny Cash Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Dreadful decision to leave Moore out. Was is not a good RB.
cuddly ken Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 About time Suedehead brought back the fit again SSL alongside Wes. That's the best CB partnership at the club. Today's defensive performance just underlines the need to bring him back ASAP.
Fatbloke Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Are you for real Ken ? Wes and Wasser are the best central 2 by a million miles !! Lliam and Ignassi are also way ahead of SSL the bloke is made of porcelain !

Is this a joke? Also arsenal are sitting pretty clear at the top of the premier league, I don't think they really care at the minute what Miquel is doing here.Simple truth is they are all playing well and someone had to miss out, after a couple of not so great performances I am certain it will chamge again next week.
cuddly ken Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Are you for real Ken ? Wes and Wasser are the best central 2 by a million miles !! Lliam and Ignassi are also way ahead of SSL the bloke is made of porcelain !It's just my opinion, For me Wes and Was as a partnership are not mobile enough. Moores a good lad, but still learning, as for Iggie doing ok. SSL has played against top international players for Ireland and done well, we need that experience in the months ahead. Like I say fats, it's just my opinion. But it's the right one.
Fatbloke Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 "just" your opinion, think that IS right, Wes and Was are more than mobile enough, solid, virtually unbeatable in the air, composed with little or no hoofing the ball away, both look for and pick good passes, not only our best centre half pairing but probably the best in the division.
Fatbloke Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 And as for your international experience, Wasser has more than enough of that and with a decent team ! and what about the SSL injury situation ? play one game miss 10, not really what we need is it ?

Jon25747 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Was was terrible at right back today and was even moved back into centre back for Morgan to go at right back which shows just how crap he was. Moore definitely should have come on today in my opinion.

Agree 100% Jon, he should never have been played at right back today, he was awful there at Hillsborough too, cost us a goal in both games as did Kasper, Lliam would have been a far better option at right back, so very glad Richie is ready to return.

Was at centre back can be a monster and he looked a lot more assured there when he moved today. He was very lucky not to be sent off today.

He was yes, but having rescued him from that by moving Wes out there it cost us a penalty and yellow card for him too :-(

I know he did nothing but if I was Hammond, I would have been pretty pissed off at Was coming out for the second half and me being hauled off (I know it was a tactical switch)
MooseBreath Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Good players getting dropped for no apparent reason is one of the defining traits of Nigel Pearson's management. It's almost like he doesn't like his players getting too good and risking them questioning his authority. Nothing new. Just Pearson's ego getting in the way of progress again. Moore will inevitably move on to a better club with a less psychotic manager soon enough.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 He got dropped because he played poorly at Ipswich. It wasn't 'for no reason.'

MooseBreath Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 He got dropped because he played poorly at Ipswich. It wasn't 'for no reason.' A young lad has one slightly off game so you drop him forevermore? Right out of the 'how to build confidence in young footballers' pocket guide that one. Meanwhile Nugent, Drinkwater et al can have bad game after bad game and never get dropped. Pretty clear Pearson was waiting for Moore to slip up just once and then he was right in there making the most of it, trying to knock him down a peg or two after he started getting a bit of attention in the national press. This is how Pearson works. He is the big dog at the club and nobody will threaten that even if it's to the detriment of the team.
Jimmy Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This reads differently http://news.arseblog.com/2013/08/ignasi-miquel-joins-leicester-on-loan/ fair enough, just passing on what she said when I brought it up. Given Morgan's form this season there is a case to see him and Wasyl dropped for Liam and a fit again Ritchie, not that I can see Morgan dropping out, Morgan along with Nugent seem to be undroppable although the case with Morgan is far weaker then with Nuge A young lad has one slightly off game so you drop him forevermore?
