Are there any correlations to when we played Real a few years ago and only got beat 2-1? I know it was a friendly...different team...but still, we like to put up a fight against tough opposition.

Even against Barcelona 10 years or so ago,

Ronaldinhos debut,star studded team,only lost

1-0,as said befour for us to think we'll lose by a cricket score is stupid,I think it'll be 2-1 to them with a good performance.

I, for one, am just hoping we manage to stay within touching distance in them for as long as possible. If they score early doors and are 2 up inside 20 - 25 minutes this isn't going to be much fun.

However I don't think they'll be as good as everyone thinks they will, players will be rested left right and centre as they've played Bayern and Arsenal in the last six days and have Fulham away on Saturday, and no matter how good a player is if they aren't getting regular game time they aren't going to be up to their best when thrown into competitive action after weeks of hardly playing, we're at home and they have a habit of not looking too clever when away from the Eitihad on occasion, and hopefully with them being one of the biggest club's to come down here in awhile the atmosphere will be bubbling. Not saying we're likely to turn them over but I think we can be a bit more optimistic than the "anything less than 5-0 and we've done alright" attitude being exhibited by some on here and around Twitter/FB.

Fair play, if I was in such a position I would take the 3 points at QPR, when we beat City though, we will most likely face, Arsenal, Chelsea or United in the Semi then Final, so I wouldn't say we had a genine chance of silverware. But I wouldn't complain. I think we are both in agreement though that we play this match to win it, one game at a time and all that, we start thinking about QPR tomorrow. There would be nothing more sickening than resting half the first team for this match, lose, then go to QPR and lose that too.

I can fully respect why Pearson would prioritise QPR higher as it's a bigger game in the long-term to him keeping his job - but I will not buy for one second that it has to be one game or the other.

Like you've just said at the end there, I could see that happening. I could see us resting a few tonight, losing 1-4, going to QPR, dominating and losing 1-0. It would be absolutely typical of our luck. For me you've got to just take each game as it comes (apologies for cliche) and throw everything you can at it, because throwing your eggs into one basket won't guarantee a result.

Only time will tell anyway. I'm getting pretty excited for this now.

Man City are a quality side full of class players, in truth I expect us to lose, however, you never know we're no mugs and we can play some great football. It's a one off in front of a full house, maybe just maybe. COYB :chant:

I want Pearson to play a strong squad for this and I'll be peeved if he doesn't. We are two wins away from a trip to Wembley for a cup final. Imagine what winning tonight would do for confidence and morale. We would be bouncing for Saturday.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Tonight is the night, totally psyched about this now. Gutted I'm not going really, but so busy at work this week and heading back up to Leicester on Friday anyway, so I don't think I could have spared the time or cash for this one. Will be searching high and low for a stream, but might just have to settle for the dulcet tones of Alan Young and Ian Stringer...

it's on 5 live... Steve claridge and robbie savage instead?! :P
