LCFC FOX Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 You can't go back to theirs, extra time and penalties
lgfualol Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Makes me feel good that we're the last team from the lower leagues left in the cup. Think everyone will up their game like for Fulham. Certain players that are nearly out of contract may even want to put certain good performances in in case certain scouts are watching.
Grewks Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 ...........................Kasper .de laet......morgan..........Miquel......schlupp ...moore.....hammond.......james.......dyer ................................Drinky ................................Vardy Want to see drinky behind the front man, where he was great against fulham. We know we have to score, likely at least 3 to even get to pens. But this side has a lot of defensive cover, and pace to get forward and create chances. De laet, moore, dyer, schlupp, vardy and drinky to an extent are all quick enough to give the likes of garcia, rodwell, kolarov, demichellis problems.
Webbo Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 If we can limit them to less than 4 goals we'll have done well. Can't see us winning just hope we give a good account of ourselves.
Harry - LCFC Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I've got one of those e-tickets for this game. Looks a bit wide. Are you supposed to cut it down to size or will it be fine as it is? Hope I don't sound too much like some technophobic grandad there!
Wakeyfox Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I'd go with; Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Hayles Or maybe 3-5-2, with hayles playing just behind the strikers.
indierich06 Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Tonight is the night, totally psyched about this now. Gutted I'm not going really, but so busy at work this week and heading back up to Leicester on Friday anyway, so I don't think I could have spared the time or cash for this one. Will be searching high and low for a stream, but might just have to settle for the dulcet tones of Alan Young and Ian Stringer...
Buce Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 There's only one way we'll win this, and that's to treat it like a good old-fashioned blood and thunder cup tie; get in their faces, show no fear and no respect. Get the psychology right and you get that extra yard of pace that can make all the difference. We know the Mancs can play - but can they fight?
nothin2seehere Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Are there any correlations to when we played Real a few years ago and only got beat 2-1? I know it was a friendly...different team...but still, we like to put up a fight against tough opposition.

Bert Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 There is a stream available. The Tudor will be showing this.
indierich06 Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 There is a stream available. The Tudor will be showing this. Cheers mate, I'll probably have to watch at home. Doubt any pubs in Charlton will be showing it :xmassad:
Ford Super Sunday Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Don't know if this has been pointed out but Sky are showing an hour long extended highlights show of the match at 11pm tonight and 3am and 5pm Wednesday for those who can't catch a decent stream.
suffolk fox Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I think it could well be a record defeat for us tomorrow in the cup at least. I don't think they will get 12 like Forest did in the dark ages. I also don't think we will get much of the ball which will mean we will end up hoofing it like England always do against better opposition. Problem with this will be that we have no one up front who is fit and good enough to flick on and lay off a Kasper exocet or a Wes punt. If Kasper plays one short I guarantee one of our defenders will lose the ball to their quick players and within 5 secs it we will be in the back of our net. I think we lose on Tuesday and will also lose to QPR (heavily) to continue a miserable month. They are on a roll and are due a few goals. Let's hope we have a better Christmas than we normally do otherwise Derby will pass us in the league and Reading, Brighton, Leeds and Forest will close in on us further. Sorry to be such a miserable *o* but that's what I think I think you will be spot on with your predictions am City through and through Leicester that is but We will lose 4 0 tonight.
Captain... Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 There are some weird comments on here. It's the quarter final of the cup. we are playing against one of the best sides in England in front of a packed out KP. Do you think the players are shitting themselves and hoping they don't get injured, and will be happy to keep it under double figures, having one eye on QPR on Saturday? Will they bollocks. They will be loving it, they will want to test themselves against the best, they will be relishing challenge, and I can bet that anyone dropped/rested will be absolutely gutted. Just enjoy the game as a bonus.
indierich06 Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Just playing Devil's advocate, but when Man City played us last time there was a lot of talk about how they'd absolutely demolish us. Did it happen then? And one of the shittest Leicester sides I've ever known - a lot, lot worse than the side we've got now - managed to give Chelsea a massive game back in 2007. Or have we all forgotten? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/7065182.stm Cup matches are never predictable, and I hope the players have better attitudes than some of you lot on here! With all the talk of us getting spanked, or that a record breaking defeat is on the cards, it's like you've given up before the game's even kicked off. Dare to dream, boys.
foxfanazer Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Looking forward to this. Not worried about the result so long as we don't embarrass ourselves. Would be nice to get the first goal and see where we can go from there. 1-3 man city is prediction Nuge for us and Jovetic, Dzeko x2
Ric Flair Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I think we'll be warriors tonight and it's just the sort of game we need to get the buzz back after our recent blip. I don't think we'll win but I think we'll give them a right go and who knows. I actually think we'll get something at Loftus Road on saturday.
Happy Fox Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 We will beat them, come on if Bradford can beat Arsenal we can f**king beat Manchester City. Anything can happen in a cup tie, league form is totally irrelevant.
Unabomber Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I have a spare ticket in SK3 if anyone is after one.
Dan Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Couldn't believe what I was hearing on the phone-in last night - the majority saying they'd take a DRAW at QPR over a win tonight? Simply incredible. Tonight's the sort of night we dream of. I can respect why people can put the league first, but that is negativity beyond absolute belief. It's no wonder the magic of both cups is dying when people are so hypnotised by the Premier League and the prestige/money it brings. Tonight's the one. I'm really looking forward to QPR but how anyone can not be up for this truly defies belief. It's like we've all forgotten why we've started with football in the first place.

If we all had the attitude of not bothering we might as well give the top four the semi-finals and start from there. I do believe we will lose, because they are a far superior side to us (and probably all of English football come May) but it won't be for the want of trying. It's not a meaningless game, if it was we wouldn't have a sell-out tonight and we would have had one on Saturday.

The majority (Stringer's words) said they'd even take a draw on Saturday over a win tonight which I found remarkable. A draw?! I'll be wanting all three on Saturday, I believe no side in this league is unbeatable. Tonight's potentially a game we'll remember for years. Of course we'll potentially lose 0-6, but I doubt it. If this was their attitude then we may has well have played the U18's at Wycombe and have been done with it from the off.
