lcfc will Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Think these two have real potential as a partnership, when they were playing together against Millwall (admittedly a poor side) they looked really good. Would like to see them tried together against Burnley, with Wood instead of Nugent who has been woeful. Thoughts?

The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I agree inb4itsnotnugentsfaultthathedoesntscoresitters
pSinatra Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 I think it's time to shake things up & give Wood a decent run out. Nugent has lost his mojo & something needs to be done, one way or another. I really don't see Nigel choosing the Burnley game to take such a gamble. I don't think it's that big a gamble, but we know it's not going to happen.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 One thing that has really baffled me about the whole Nugent thing is that everytime he's been out of the side he's forced his way back in (much like King). I really don't see the harm given his awful form this season in dropping him and seeing what reaction it generates in him. Wood deserves a bit of a run as well having shown what he can do when in-form at this level last season.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Nugent is a striker that can score out of nothing, even if he's having a bad game you wouldn't bet against him popping up with a goal Quite a hard player to drop
XLM Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Hard to drop a player coming up against their former club too
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Worth a try given Nugent's form. Maybe in the man city game
VLC86 Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Makes me wonder of Nigel is worried about Nuge's contract situation. Wood has a year or 2 left so we are in a stronger position where as with Nugents up in the summer he might try and force a move if he's not playing
Libertine Dream Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Steve Howard and Vardy, now that's something I'd have loved to have seen
Johnny Cash Posted 8 December 2013 Posted 8 December 2013 Wood needs a run of games, limited to what he can do with 15/20mins here and there. Makes me wonder of Nigel is worried about Nuge's contract situation. dayday Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Is it just me who thinks Pearson does not rate Chris Wood, dropped after scoring a hat-trick against carlisle, little cameos here and there,if he is not picked sooner or later i can see Pearson buying a striker in January and Chris being surplus. We all know he was poor at the end of last season, but he was scoring goals for fun for Millwall....and besides a bright start to his Leicester career we have not seen why he was scoring all those goals,is it because Pearson was asking him to play a deeper role bit like Steve Howard which does not suit him,or is it something more underlyning like the supposed fall out between the two, anyway for whatever reason something is not right else he would have started more games.
sw_fox Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 But Nugent always scores against Burnley, whatever team he is at. I say keep him in for Burnley, stick a tenner on him scoring and see how he goes from there.

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Nugent would walk into any championship team and a few bottom half prem teams
Guest ttfn Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Nugent would walk into any championship team and a few bottom half prem teams At the moment he'd literally walk into them because he's certainly not running anywhere

HE DOESNT SCORE OUT OF SOMETHING!! Some of his misses have been criminal, should be on 15-20 goals easily with the chances he's blown, the fact 7 of his goals are penalties shows how bad he is, having scored all those pens he could easily be close to 20 before christmas

Dan Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 I'd be intrigued to see it tried. Wood knows where the net is. Said it elsewhere but I think he's similar in some ways to Yakubu.

hackneyfox Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 I can't imagine that any PL side is currently looking at Nugent.
Dan Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 Fat, black and lazy. Completely agree. Not very mobile, questionable all-round game/work rate but can finish.

Guest Col city fan Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 I can't imagine that any PL side is currently looking at Nugent. Nugent is not Prem quality. I've said it before, I don't think any of our squad are. If they were, clubs would have come in for them.
