Leicesterpool Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 DAVE JONES?!?!?! lol lol lol lol I actually can see that happening, it's bit like when Burnley were in the premier league after Coyle had left they went for Brian Laws as a replacement, who had just been sacked as manager of Sheffield Wednesday see the connection?
MooseBreath Posted 20 December 2013 Posted 20 December 2013 Wow, glancing at their boards, some Cardiff fans actually seem to be backing Tan and expect him to be pulling of a masterstroke à la Southampton. They seem to think Solskjær is set to be their Pochettino.Yeah I know quite a few Cardiff fans and they generally aren't that bothered about Malky leaving. They've spent a lot of money on players but they're serving up mostly terrible, negative football which isn't exactly working brilliantly. They reckon with Tan's money and a better manager they can be top-10. Fair play to them really. Tan is obviously being sold by the media as a nutjob foreign owner but the fact is he has the support of the majority of their fans.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Mackay actually said in his interview he would talk with Tan about signings. Tan could've told him in private that no money was available, Mackay tells the media and they get on with things. Tan is just pissed off that Mackay is getting all the adulation and adoration from the supporters and he's getting little. There are no real footballing reasons for sacking him so this is the only way to get rid. I think with the amount of investment that the first team has had and breaking their transfer record three times during the summer, Tan would be expecting to be higher than 15th.
ScouseFox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 He should be sacked based purely on the performance of his defence in this first 45 minutes.
ScouseFox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 It's almost as if his team talk today was "ey boys i'm gettin sacked anyway really, do what the fúck you want i don't give a shit".
Steven Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2527463/Sven-Goran-Eriksson-tipped-replace-Malky-Mackay-Cardiff-City.html :xmasunsure:
The Horse's Mouth Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Won't happen, Sven is literally linked with any vacancy in England.

Ok, but according to the paper today two of the three front-runners for the job are Paul Ince and Dave Jones. Hardly a step-up on Mackay.

Corky Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Because the papers are always spot on when linking managers with vacancies? **** me, Glenn Hoddle was the front runner for the Spurs job a few days ago. The Glenn Hoddle stuff was mainly ex-players and mates of his who forgot his past with Spurs and wanted their pal back in football. I doubt the Cardiff links have been brought by ex-players, there must be more in them than the Hoddle nonsense. Have you heard any other names linked?

I don't listen to papertalk because most of it is bull. Dave Jones is just like the Hoddle case only difference was Jones actually managed Cardiff before, that's the only reason they've linked him.
Leicesterpool Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Won't happen, Sven is literally linked with any vacancy in England. Sven would do a decent job to be fair, i think he knows alot more about the premier league than the championship!

I think the job would suit him, he's a decent manager. I think the squad is complete aswell, I'd imagine Tan wants a Sven like manager to bring in big name signings.

separator Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Some bloke rang into 606 this evening saying he was ITK, recently had some sort of hospitality do at Cardiff and spoke to Tan. Apparently they have a current Serie A manager lined up ready to take over. Who knows, sounds like a load of bull to me.
RedHux Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Cardiff fans making a point in scouseland..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j8dZT5Bpb0#t=199

No-one outside of the top 3 (maybe 4) in Serie A are currently setting the world a light and there's no way they'd get Conte, Garcia or Rafa. The only thing I can think is there's some tenuous South East Asian connect and Erick Thohir is willing to let Walter Mazzarri go but that seems extremely unlikely as they seem to get along really well. It sounds like either utter bullshit or a really uninspiring appointment from an under-performing Serie A club.
