The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 I thought he'd struggle to make top 5. Really? Even with the track I expected him to grab the podium after he demonstrated how the car could pull it back in Germany.
Jimothy Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Really? Even with the track I expected him to grab the podium after he demonstrated how the car could pull it back in Germany. You can't overtake well here. Not many have won from a low grid position, especially from the pit lane. If you honestly thought he'd stroll to a podium in this race, you know less than I thought you did.

I didn't think he would stroll it, but I thought he would achieve it and low and behold I was correct.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Hamilton will be delighted with 3rd and ahead of Rosberg...
Jimothy Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 I didn't think he would stroll it, but I thought he would achieve it and low and behold I was correct. Yes but he shouldn't have done, which make it a great achievement! Christ! Just admit he's done well for once. Your blind Hamilton hate, you need to get over it.

Your blind Hamilton hate, you need to get over it. I NEVER said it wasn't a good achievement, I even said it was a good achievement ffs. I just said that him catching Rosberg was more impressive that the actual position he achieved. You seem so quick to defend Hamilton that you'll defend him when I'm not even bashing him.
DennisNedry Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 It was very odd how the Mercedes could not overtake the lesser cars down the pit straight even with DRS. Anyway, mighty drive from Fernando and Lewis.
Amin Posted 27 July 2014 Author Posted 27 July 2014 Amazing stuff! What a driver Ricciardo is, incredible racing.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Ricciardo is lovely isn't he, there's a man who enjoys what he does.
Amin Posted 27 July 2014 Author Posted 27 July 2014 great race, Nico whining over the radio was patheticIt was understandable. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, Hamilton wouldn't have been too happy.
DennisNedry Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 As a massive Hamilton fan, I can still say that I really like Ricciardo. Him dominating Vettel is further proof for me that Vettel really was just a 'right place right time' driver.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 It was understandable. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, Hamilton wouldn't have been too happy. That is bull I have never seen Hamilton ask for his team mate to move over when racing each other...
Jimmy Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 It was understandable. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, Hamilton wouldn't have been too happy. as far as I can remember, Lewis has NEVER got on the radio to cry to be let past a team mate
Brainy Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 I didn't think he would stroll it, but I thought he would achieve it and low and behold I was correct. wow how did you know there would be two safety cars?
Amin Posted 27 July 2014 Author Posted 27 July 2014 That is bull I have never seen Hamilton ask for his team mate to move over when racing each other...Germany last year.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Germany last year. so the race where Rosberg was struggling and finished way down... Can't remember the messages but they certainly aren't the same situation, they weren't even racing...
Amin Posted 27 July 2014 Author Posted 27 July 2014 so the race where Rosberg was struggling and finished way down... Can't remember the messages but they certainly aren't the same situation, they weren't even racing...You asked, I answered. I don't think it really matters what the situation is, you said that Hamilton would never ask to be let by. The fact is racing drivers are selfish, if things are not going their way they're going to have a little moan.
ADK Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Good race from Button too, shame McLaren decided to put wet weather tires on when everyone else was on slicks.

Amin Posted 27 July 2014 Author Posted 27 July 2014 I said in a racing situation...Unless your a lap down, it's a racing situation.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Unless your a lap down, it's a racing situation. Not at all Rosberg was not racing Hamilton in that race. There was no chance of him beating Hamilton and was only effecting the team by just not allowing Lewis past ASAP he would have got past effectually anyway.
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 That was fantastic. A proper "in your face Rosberg" moment. Loving it! Didn't feel quite so great at turn 2 on lap 1 but there's few in the paddock that could have matched Hamilton from there. Lewis will turn him over in the second half of the season.

Not being able to have that formation lap almost cost him, about time Hamilton had some luck though.
