LCFC1996 Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Love seeing the Marussia's go through, especially Chilton with it being at Silverstone
Legend_in_blue Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 What the ****? Lewis is majorly hacked off with that. Big error of judgement.
BlueSi13 Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Seriously if I was Lewis Hamilton I'd consider either jacking it in with either Mercedes-Benz (Rumoured to have spoken with McLaren already) or with F1 altogether. He has literally the worst luck I have ever seen in a professional sportsman.
Legend_in_blue Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 I don't think it was bad luck, just a massive misjudgement of the conditions. It goes totally against his character as well backing off like that, he normally never throws in the towel.
Amin Posted 5 July 2014 Author Posted 5 July 2014 He seemed to think that the conditions wouldn't get any better (which is what I thought at the time) so he backed off. The people who took the risk were rewarded.
DennisNedry Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Hamilton only has himself to blame. If Rosberg wins tomorrow, he becomes stand out favourite to win the Championship for me. Seriously if I was Lewis Hamilton I'd consider either jacking it in with either Mercedes-Benz (Rumoured to have spoken with McLaren already) or with F1 altogether. He has literally the worst luck I have ever seen in a professional sportsman. Why would he want to leave the best team to go to arguably the 5th best team?
Super_horns Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Ferrari Alonso won't stick around will he. Hamilton really messed his chances up there - expect Rosberg to increase his lead now.
iamafox Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Ferrari are going to retain Alonso and Raikkonen for next year.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Lewis well and truly cracking imo. Well done to Jenson on what must be a highly emotional weekend for him.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Seriously if I was Lewis Hamilton I'd consider either jacking it in with either Mercedes-Benz (Rumoured to have spoken with McLaren already) or with F1 altogether. He has literally the worst luck I have ever seen in a professional sportsman. Leaving McLaren was the best career move for him. Going back now would be idiotic.
Nick Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 Ferrari are going to retain Alonso and Raikkonen for next year. Raikkonen I thought had other plans?
isaidno Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 Rosberg has Hamilton rattled. Lewis is making mistakes in qualifying that don't usually happen.
ADK Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 Hamilton has always been mentally fragile. If he just stuck to driving the car properly he'd have this title in the bag.
Asha Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 Error of judgement yes, but at the time I think most people would have assumed that the conditions weren't going to improve. Having made a slight mistake on the lap which he would have felt compromised him anyway, it's just one of those things. Changeable conditions are a bit of a lottery - hence Williams and Ferrari both falling out in Q1. Should be a hell of a race, with those four cars coming right from the back and Lewis having to catch up to Rosberg asap. Lewis will win this today, by the way.
ADK Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 What makes you say that? Do you think Merc will try and bend it for him? I don't see how either Merc can expect to overtake the other as strategy priority goes to the driver in front. That's without having to clear 4 cars between them. I guess if Hammy can get to the back of Rosberg before round 1 of pitstops he has a chance.
isaidno Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 Good chance of a podium for Button , with the Williams and Ferraris near the back
Amin Posted 6 July 2014 Author Posted 6 July 2014 Raikkonen I thought had other plans? Raikkonen said he will retire at the end of his contract, which is at the end of 2015 or 2016.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 July 2014 Posted 6 July 2014 There's a brake problem on Lewis' car. Much more of this "bad luck" and the conspiracy theorists will be in full flow.
