iamafox Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Rosberg had a gearbox problem in FP3, so he missed most of the session but won't face a penalty as Mercedes have resolved the issue and a new gearbox isn't needed.
Far Post Gerry Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Lewis looking damn quick in Q1 & 2. Just wait for Nico to nick it in Q3. Kimi shocking; don't know what his contract is, but i wouldn't be surprised to see Bianchi in his seat next year.
Super_horns Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Hamilton on pole at last! Hopefully can win it tomorrow.
isaidno Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 A few photos from the Belgian GP: An amazing weekend started with the pitlane walk on Thursday, where I managed to get my 2007 champions hat signed by Kimi, along with a picture signed by Alonso. On Friday we got our first taste of live F1 action while we walked around the beautiful Spa-Francorchamps track scoping out vantage points for Saturday and Sunday. In the end we decided the entry to Pouhon was the best spot. On Saturday we had to endure a few downpours, including hail, but the action on track more than made up for it, with a British 1-2-3-4 in GP3 being the highlight. After three great days, Sunday topped the lot. Another British win in GP3, followed by my favourite GP2 driver, Felipe Nasr, winning the second race made it a great morning and a thoroughly entertaining Porshe race completed a wonderful warm-up act for what was undoubtedly the main event. The F1 race was incredibly thrilling, with a very likeable victor and Raikkonen having his race of the season was a wonderful bonus. After the race, we managed to get onto the track at the bottom of Eau Rouge and walk up the Kemmel straight, through Les Combes and Malmedy, round Rivage until we got told to exit the track at the exit of Pouhon. If you have any interest in attending a Grand Prix, make it the Belgian GP. I'm already planning a return trip for 2015. P.S: The best fans were the Danes. They all made alot of noise whenever Kevin did anything even slightly noteworthy. I'm just glad I wasn't around when they found about his penalty! Spa is on my to do list . Monaco next year for me
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Amin, your pictures look great. Would like to do a European race. Spa would be a good choice I think. In terms of cost, what are these like? I would probably drive it, catch a ferry and find a hotel less than an hours drive from the circuit. What's the best way to do it?
VLC86 Posted 6 September 2014 Posted 6 September 2014 Been to Monza today after moving to within 45 mins of the track a few weeks ago. Great day and great to see Hamilton get pole but no doubt something will go wrong and that tosser Rosberg will end up cruising to victory. Cost wise for GPs, it varies depending on which one but I got my Monza ticket for about €340 for a weekend ticket on the finish line but you can get general admission tickets for less than €50 however at some circuits you wont see anything eg Monza but I went to Barcelona last year and recon its worth getting general for that.

I'm hoping the fact Rosberg had gearbox issues in the last practice session and didn't change it that he will be the one that doesn't finish this time... Even things out a little more.
Jimothy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Hamilton looked like he pulled off in reverse!
Matt Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Shocking start by Hamilton, wants to thank himself lucky he only dropped to 4th, I thought he'd end up half way down the field with that start.

Got a problem, not looking good but hopefully he can get that sorted... Nothing he could do really. Just becoming a joke
Matt Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Some nice move's by Hamilton, making up for a bad start, into 2nd. Time to catch Rosberg.
Jimothy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Rosberg likes out breaking himself doesn't he. Done it 3 or 4 times this year when under no pressure.
Jimothy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 How can someone who's leading the world championship be so bad at breaking into corners? It's getting stupid now how many times he's done that this season.
shen Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Magnussen getting a 5 sec drive through penalty... really? For holding his line? That was top racing, but the stewards punish it.
VinceNoir Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Magnussen getting a 5 sec drive through penalty... really? For holding his line? That was top racing, but the stewards punish it. Very harsh. Wasn't much different to the Button/Perez battle just a few laps later.
Asha Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Great win for Lewis that. Mistake by Rosberg but honestly Lewis was always going to win that - wanted it so much more. Keeps that title fight nicely in balance.
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 As long as the gap is no more than 13 points by the final race, it's all good.
Jimothy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 As long as the gap is no more than 13 points by the final race, it's all good. If it is I wouldn't be surprised to see Nico nudge Lewis off the track.
VLC86 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Great race from Hamilton, after that start he gave himself a tough day and judging by the formation lap he knew it was going to happen. Apparently it's a bad idea to cheer Alonso retiring in Monza, who knew?
Asha Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Why would you cheer anyone retiring, especially from like 7th place?
VLC86 Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Why would you cheer anyone retiring, especially from like 7th place? Because I'm not a fan of Alonso and the Italians went mad if a Ferrari so much as changed gear
Sir Fynwy Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Why would you cheer anyone retiring, especially from like 7th place? Because you don't like them, don't like their team, want someone behind to get more points? Just 3 examples of why someone might be happy to see a car retire
Asha Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 Because I'm not a fan of Alonso and the Italians went mad if a Ferrari so much as changed gear So they shouldn't be passionate about a team representing their nation? It seems a little sad, especially if your man is on his way to victory. And surely part of the magic of being at Monza is enjoying the passionate fans, not resenting them...

And surely part of the magic of being at Monza is enjoying the passionate fans, not resenting them... Hardly resenting them but after listening to people saying he was going to win it was quite funny seeing him struggle. Being British we would have cheered on of our own if he had to retire but the silence was defending which is probably why it was amusing.
isaidno Posted 7 September 2014 Posted 7 September 2014 So Nico still hasn't beaten Lewis in a clean fight this season
