Filbert_Ross Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 He has probably only missed a few more than suarez has for Liverpool. Good comparison.
Swalker Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 I'll eat my words from last season. Last season thought he was a waste of money and generally poor. But this season he's been inspirational and its funny now that I can't think of him now in the same light that I did last season! Fair play Vardy, you've got your head down pre season and its evident. But I think the biggest change is now he believes himself as a championship player, last season was a massive step for him and I honestly don't think he saw himself as a £1 million striker! Much more positive this year and his finish today was class
Brooksy Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Says all we need to know about you. Cheers. :xmaslaugh: Thought it was a bit harsh to say he hated him. You can never hate one of your own players, even Gallagher.
Callabinho Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Always the worst award to win as a kid in football "most improved player" in other words you're a little bit less shit than you were last season.
sylofox Posted 21 December 2013 Posted 21 December 2013 Great player yes offers a lot to the team and team play. Great striker no he's 6 or 7 goals short of that so far this season. But will give you his improvement by far the best for a long time. Hopefully after todays goal he will kick on and add to his tally.

Proper striker's goal and very clinical. A lot like what he was doing at Fleetwood in the lower leagues by the looks of it

foxfanazer Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 No way. Drinky, Dyer, Moore, Morgan are all streets ahead of him so far. Vardy has been decent, nothing more nothing less. Why wasn't this thread made after the defeats at Brighton, and more importantly Sheffield Wednesday when his touch let him down on numerous occasions and totally fluffed a 1v1? Morgan hasn't been that good this season imo

foxfanazer Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 I'm so pleased for Vardy. He still has his faults but his work rate and desire to improve is brilliant. He's become an important player for us
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Redknapp is in the market for a striker. How Vardy played yesterday I wonder whether 'uncle Arry might come sniffing? Genuine question.. I sat thinking that as I watched the game. Redknapp does like his strikers and Vardy gave his usually solid back four a right run around.

dedlock Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 The potential was clear early last season. He has added greater awareness.Yesterday's goal was another from an angle. He now needs to convert more chances in and around the six yard box.
deanolegend1989 Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 The 2 players at the start of the season that were getting the most abuse - Vardy and Dyer. Our 2 best players this season - Vardy and Dyer. The 2 players that Ive constantly hailed as class - Vardy and Dyer. Shows how little most on here know..Vardy yesterday was absolutely SUPERB. quality selfless running, great timing of runs(he was in from Nugents pass but for an awful decision that I knew as soon as watching that he was in). On top of this, what an outstanding finish..in a huge time in a huge game..only players with genuine quality can do that. The very second that he went off, QPR managed to pile pressure on due to them being able to get to the final 3rd with ease(mainly due to Schlupps lazyness and GTF's fitness). However for me it shows how good Vardy is off the ball as well as on...really impressive season.

deanolegend1989 Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 Haha the reason I didnt add Drinky is because if im honest, I slated him alot and said 'we'll never get promoted if hes playing reguarly'. As the other 2 Its not a heinsite thing and Ive always rated and backed them. To be fair with Drinky I still think he blows hot and cold, however tbh yesterday he was absolutely fantastic and it was a joy to see when hes like that.

I'd say he's a lot more consistent so far this season though. Fantastic little player in my eyes. I also slated him before but he seems to have become more attack minded this season. Some stat I read somewhere said he has the most completed passes in the opposition's half this season!
deanolegend1989 Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 He has been class this year for the majority. The way he played yesterday was top class - he looks every bit a decent premiership CM. That stat is impressive but yesterday for me it was his tackling and breaking up of play that stood out, he won everything! If he can continue improving his consistency then who knows how good he become seeing as hes still very young.
ImBlue Posted 23 December 2013 Posted 23 December 2013 Fair play to Vardy. Quite a humble guy so I hear. The best thing about vardy over our other 3 strikers is that he doesn't respect status. He lower league mentality is what I believe makes him such a fearful opponent and such a handful. I am really happy for him. I will say though, Danny Drinkwater is getting nowhere near enough credit when people are talking about player of the season.
foxfanazer Posted 23 December 2013 Posted 23 December 2013 Yeah Drinky has been superb. One of my mates thinks he's shit and that he just plays negative passes. Can't even be bothered to argue with him anymore. If Leicester play well, Drinkwater has played well. Simple as that
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 December 2013 Posted 23 December 2013 I think its simple. Last season, Vardy was injured AND trying to make the big step up. So he looked just OK. This season he's fitter, less injured and has now made the step up. I said over the summer I expected a big season from him and so far, hes answering his critics. SUPPLY is the issue IMO. Give him quality ball to run onto and he can be a very dangerous striker.
