Jamie Vardy - most improved player here for years

I know there's been a lot of similar threads but can I say I HATED Vardy last season and rarely posted here other than to slate him, thought he was so far out of his depth and his game was only based on effort which wasnt enough. I wanted him gone last summer

Thank god he didn't! He's a class act now, and the parts of his game that are hard to learn - the technical parts - touch, control, hold-up play, have somehow blossomed this season. He's even learnt how to use his left! Added to his natural pace and determination, we've got one hell of a striker here and a snip for 1mil. Now he's got rid of his stupid cornrows there's nothing not to like about Vardy!

I can't remember anyone coming along so much from season to season, ever, and top marks to him for working on the weak parts of his game. Or maybe they were always there but he just needed to adapt last season.  So just want to say if your reading this Jamie - great job lad, you've gone from being my scapegoat to 2nd favourite after Kingy! Love the guy and we'd be stuffed without him! All hail Vardeh  :chant:  :trumpet:

Player of the season so far for me

No way.

Drinky, Dyer, Moore, Morgan are all streets ahead of him so far.

Vardy has been decent, nothing more nothing less.

Why wasn't this thread made after the defeats at Brighton, and more importantly Sheffield Wednesday when his touch let him down on numerous occasions and totally fluffed a 1v1?

He's our best striker.

You obviously haven't seen him if you think 3 players are streets ahead of him. It's not just his goals, he contributes far more to our side.

Surely you've answered your question there mate?

His bounce-back ability to go and win the game against top quality opposition. Vardy from last year wouldn't even be playing, so credit to him for today.

Keep it up Vards.

Very harsh, his touch has come on in leaps and bounds and he's not our only striker who's fluffing good chances and offers more in general play than Nuge / Wood. The guy above who said he's our best striker is spot on he's the one you'd choose if we were playing 1 up front

Looking like 1 million well spent, and credit goes to Pearson for that. If Vardys critics had their way he would have been out over the summer despite having to jump 3 leagues and manage injuries last season.

This is why Pearson is manager and not fans like the majority on here who react to one or two results.

If it was just 1 up top i would play wood.

We say against Fulham what he can do if we get good quality ball into him, he can hold it up and create chances himself.

He's on course for between 10-15 league goals which is a good return considering where he was last season. Add to that the amount of goals (and penalties) he creates through his pace, work rate and tenacity and we have a striker who many clubs in this division should envy.

Moore above Vardy - always.

I like Liam but how can a player who has been on the bench a lot recently be a better contender for player of the season?

Still needs to be better finisher but the finish today was quality. Wouldn't have scored that last season.

Possibly player of the season for me with Dyer. Probably ia winning the man of match polls total though

He has probably only missed a few more than suarez has for Liverpool.
