Kyle_Le_Don Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 I have 100% experienced the latter - although nothing very scary has happened, other than not being able to move. Lucid dreams sound amazing, but would you not be conscious of the fact that what's happening is not real? Doesn't that somewhat ruin the experience? I know this is going to sound mad but some dreams seem more 'real' than real. There's a lot more to dreaming I do believe than some people realise. The ancients were supposedly bonkers about them.

I am fascinated by dreams, as I mentioned before. You can tell a lot about a person through their dreams.
Tom17LCFC Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 Had sleep paralysis for the first and only time so far this year. Was absolutely horrible, think I'd just had a nightmare as well and then woke up to find I couldn't move at all for a good 30 seconds.
Carl the Llama Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 A few weeks ago I severely freaked out my flatmates by repeatedly screaming very loudly in my sleep until I eventually woke myself up. No idea what the dream was about.

Tielemans63 Posted 31 December 2013 Posted 31 December 2013 I have some very weird dreams to the point were I worry about what goes on in my subconscious. I once dreamt that my finger went white and dropped off. It fell into the dirt on the floor and when eventually found it it clicked back in but it was filthy. I then had a conversation with my mrs when she suddenly starts screaming. I look at my hands and there's grass growing out of my palms. Weird. There was also the time I dreamt that my Dad had the end of his nose circumcised but I won't go into that.

Hollism Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Think I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time a few weeks ago and it wasn't nice. Was basically lying in bed but couldn't move. I heard the front door open and voices- one of which was my dads and others that I'd never heard before. As with all dreams, you don't know it isn't real when it's happening so it was pretty scary, even more so when I couldn't move! Had a few work dreams before when I worked at Maccies just because it was so repetitive. Doing a 9 hour shift, going to bed and dreaming about work, and getting up to go straight back to work for 10 more hours
BlooArmeh! Posted 1 January 2014 Author Posted 1 January 2014 I didn't have a dream last night. Well, I don't remember it anyway. I was in a good mood when I woke up, though. So I suppose it was a nice one.
Trumpet Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 I've had dreams of winning the lottery or being part of some of my favourite bands. Only had these a few times and I think they were lucid, I definitely had control in them.

AndWhat? Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I have had quite a few dream where I go to shoot someone and the trigger on the gun doesn't work or I am trying to punch someone as hard as I possibly can and nothing happens. Would love to know what they actually mean.

The Blur Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 No you are totally aware that you are dreaming, it doesn't ruin it as you do things that you can't do but real life such as flying or smashing celebrities. But usually at the point when you realise you are in a dream, that is where you wake up?
Trumpet Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Were you genuinely happy in these dreams, though? Did money bring you happiness? Absolutely. Funnily enough, I had another one of these dreams last night. This time I visited New York (somewhere I have never been). I wandered around, J walked at one point and ended up going into a bike shop to hire a bike. There was a couple in the shop hiring some bikes and I managed to get the last bike as there were 3 remaining.

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 Dreamt Brooks from shawshank (haven't watched the film for ages) was holding up the traffic on the M1 last night by standing in the fast lane and refusing to move. willy puller
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2014 Posted 2 January 2014 I had a dream within a dream last night. Took me a good 10 minutes to work out which was the dream, which was the dream in the dream and where I was at in real life. Mental.
BlooArmeh! Posted 2 January 2014 Author Posted 2 January 2014 I dreamt I was offered a job playing Football Manager. It paid peanuts but I was going to take it... But my family told me it would be the worst decision of my life, so I didn't. Spent most of today playing Football Manager because of it.
