bald reynard Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 If there were any 'Foxes in the Den', could they post some player ratings please ?
martyn Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kasper 7 Moore 7.5 Wasyl 7 Morgan 6.5 Miquel 6.5 Knockaert 8 King 7 Hammond 7 Dyer 6 Nugent 7 GTF 7.5 De Laet 5, schlupp 6, Drinkwater 5.5
nlukka Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kasper 8 - unlucky with their goal, dealt with all of their long range efforts well and good kicking (considering how windy it was) Moore 7 - stuck to his task well, can't remember him crossing the half-way line too often. some good crunching tackles Marcin 7 - strong, physical and aggressive. the kind of player you need in this game. Morgan 8 - led by example, swept up most of their long balls with ease. Miguel 7.5 - really good performance, he looked very comfortable at left back Knocky 8.5 - good goal and assist for schlupp, most impressed by his work of the ball today, really tried hard to win the ball back for us. motm for me King 7 - did well off the ball, good in possession Hammond 7 - won the ball back well, thought he had a good solid game. Dyer 6.5 - stuck to his task well, didn't have many opportunities to attack them GTF 8 - did well in the build up to the first two goals, some lovely touches and lots of work off the ball. Nugent 7.5 - harried their defence, won a few headers and got a nice simple goal. RDL 6 - had little to no impact wide right for me Schlupp 6 - thank god he scored because he didn't do too well otherwise. rarely showed enough effort to pressure their back four and was stood offside quite often DD n/a - not long enough on the pitch
Bert Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kasper 7 - Some good saves in tricky conditions. Kicking was good. Moore 8 - Solid as rock. Miquel 7 - He's a very good defender. No nonsense. Morgan 8 - Didn't give his man any time or room. Captains performance. Wasilewski 7 - Just doesn't care what he's gonna throw himself into. This was the perfect game for him. Dyer 6 - Looked very tired but still worried them without really doing anything. Knocky 9 - Pure class. A great goal, an assist which came from him tackling, and he worked his socks off. Fantastic. Hammond 7 - Protects the back four really well. Calm on the ball. King 7 - Got around the pitch and covered some ground. Seems like a rest has done him good. GTF 8 - Influential in two of our goals, defended from the front, put an absolute shift in and again his technical play was great to see. Nuge 8 - Another goal, but he made intelligent runs, ran himself into the ground, he was like a little menace today. RDL 6 - Didn't do a lot but provided some nice cover at the back when we were under the cosh. Schlupp 7 - Played on the last man and made some tireless runs, sealed the win with a nice goal. Drinky. N/A.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Schmeichel 7.5 - handling was good and distribution commendable in those conditions. Had a huge brain fart with about 15 mins to go when he came darting out of his goal. Moore 7.5 - Best of the back 4. Morgan 7 - Solid apart from a slip which let them in for the goal. Wasilewski 7 - As above (apart from the slip!) Miquel 6 - struggled with the ball inside him a few times but did fine. Good use of the ball. Knockaert 8.5 - Goal, assist, worked hard, passed well. Good game. King 7 - Never really felt that King and Hammond had a grip on the game in midfield but they worked tirelessly in dreadful conditions and made some crucial interceptions. Hammond 7 - As above Dyer 4 -Not his day at all. Looked leggy. GTF 8 -As John Ashdown of the Guardian once put it - the "pub Cantona". Nugent 7 - worked his nuts off today and popped up with a goal. Subs: De Laet 5.5 - In theory playing both him and Moore on the right should make us rock solid but I've seen it twice now (the other being away at Brighton last year) and it seems to be a case of "too many cooks". Schlupp 5 - Would have been a 4 if not for his goal. Didn't work hard enough and constantly in offside positions. Drinkwater 6 - Meh
eastendfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Don't think any of the starting team deserve less than a 7, they all put in a great shift. Schlupp wasn't great but got the goal.
theessexfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kasper - 7 - Kicking was on and off, good saves, moment of madness when he came out Moore - 8 - Very good Wes- 7 - Untroubled bar the slip Was - Untroubled Miquel - 7 - Solid Knockaert - 8 - Our biggest threat, good goal, celebrating with the fans after Nuge's and Schlupp's goals and at full time Hammond - 7 - Did the unseen stuff well King - 7 - As above Dyer - 5 - Not his game today GTF - 8 - Had a brilliant game Nuge - 7 - Worked hard, got his goal De Laet - 6 - Did alright Schlupp - 6 - Looked poor before his goal Drinkwater - 6 - Not much to say

N/A. Alan Young said Nugent was rubbish today! I didn't see the game but I'm more inclined to believe you!!
Soar Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Very close between Moore & Knockaert for man of the match imo. Knockaert edges with a goal, assist and endless workrate.
foxfanazer Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Are we agreed that Knockaert can actually play away from home then?
Bert Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Alan Young said Nugent was rubbish today! I didn't see the game but I'm more inclined to believe you!!Just look at what everyone else has said about him. Says it all. The bloke also slated Knockaert.
Soar Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Are we agreed that Knockaert can actually play away from home then? Home & away he's one of the 1st names on the team sheet for me. His work rate is superb.
pazzerfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Just look at what everyone else has said about him. Says it all. The bloke also slated Knockaert. For saying he used to be a professional footballer, he doesn't half talk some garbage!
davieG Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Are we agreed that Knockaert can actually play away from home then? Yes but don't tell his Mrs.
theessexfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Knocky won the ball back from defenders quite a few times today, two of which led to goals. Good work rate.
Bert Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 For saying he used to be a professional footballer, he doesn't half talk some garbage! The game has evolved massively since he played it in. The days of a hustle and bustle centre forward are gone, the game is so much more technical now.
pazzerfox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 The game has evolved massively since he played it in. The days of a hustle and bustle centre forward are gone, the game is so much more technical now. Very true.
OzFox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Kasper 6Moore 6Wasyl 6Morgan 6Miquel 6Knockaert 8 - scored, laid one on and put himself about a bit. Star man.King 6Hammond 6Dyer 6Nugent 7 - lively performance, scored from open play for a changeTaylor Fletcher 7 - some nice touchesDe Laet 5 Schlupp 6 - Looked as surprised as I was when he put that away. Thought he was poor up to that point Drinkwater 5
deep blue Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 For saying he used to be a professional footballer, he doesn't half talk some garbage! And all while he should be leaving it to Stringer to tell us what's happening on the pitch. Very frustrating to listen to.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Schmeichel 7 Moore 8 Miquel 7 Morgan 7 Wasilewski 7 Hammond 7 King 7 Dyer 6 Knockaert 8 Taylor-Fletcher 7 Nugent 7 De Laet 5 Schlupp 7
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 De Laet 5.5 - In theory playing both him and Moore on the right should make us rock solid but I've seen it twice now (the other being away at Brighton last year) and it seems to be a case of "too many cooks". Thought exactly the same thing. His positional sense is terrible on the right side of midfield. I thought we looked more in danger with him there than Knocky, which is crazy. He was awful in the same role at Brighton last season too, as you say.
VLC86 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Alan Young said Nugent was rubbish today! I didn't see the game but I'm more inclined to believe you!! They gave me the impression that Moore and Morgan were poor as well. Just goes to show that if you listen to the radio rather than watch the match live then it's difficult to give an accurate opinion

VLC86 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Refuse to listen to it Il always listen when I can't get to away matches and I think Stringer is entertaining but I really do struggle with Alan Young sometimes
