GingerrrFox Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 The lad has got a right hard decision to make. 1) Wait till the summer and join Lazio (Serie A - consistent), 2) Sign for us in January with the hope that we make the Premiership next season. If we get promotion then he's made the right choice coming to us if not then he should have joined Lazio. It's a tough one.

So GingerrrFox, are we genuinely interested in him and have we made the offer?
GingerrrFox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 So GingerrrFox, are we genuinely interested in him and have we made the offer? I have no news on Djordjevic at all, but it wouldn't surprise me if we did bid for him as the club have done heavy scouting in France over the last few months. I know we spoke to Kevin Phillips last week (I was told he met Nigel on Friday), but it is no definite he will sign for us like some would have you believe as he's retiring this season and he wants to play games and to be honest Forest might be a better fit for him, they are interested and he may feel they are a better fit as he would undoubtedly get more games for them with their situation at striker being a lot more precarious than ours. Having said that he has previous with Nigel and I think he will come because of another promotion party but as Nigel said on Saturday after the Stoke game there are quite a few Midlands clubs interested.
Callabinho Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Why anyone would want to play in Italy is beyond me, Lazio's days of glory are long gone he'd be much better off joining us.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 £1mil for the top scorer of a top half French side? I'm not convinced. £5mil I agree is OTT but £1mil is very cheeky. Then again Ligue 1 is typically cheap. Wasn't Cabaye about four million? Newcastle don't look so silly now do they. I hope we are the next newcastle, I love french players
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Why anyone would want to play in Italy is beyond me, Lazio's days of glory are long gone he'd be much better off joining us. problem is they have more chance of champions league football than we do! Money. 72,000 capacity stadium. Incredible fans. They have more going for them than we do unfortunately, and will have for atleast another 5-10 years!

Comparing Leicester's achievements with Lazio's history is just so wrong, both from a sportive and political point of view.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Comparing Leicester's achievements with Lazio's history is just so wrong, both from a sportive and political point of view. what? How is that history? problem is they have more chance of champions league football than we do! - True and current. Money. - They have more than us. True and current. (We are bound by FFP) 72,000 capacity stadium. - True and current. Incredible fans. - True and current. They have more going for them than we do unfortunately, and will have for atleast another 5-10 years! - Completely true and current. How is any of that history? Lazio came 7th in the serie A... A good season they could be in the champions league? We came 6th in the championship last season. got knocked out of the FA cup 4th round. And the league cup in the 2nd round. Highest home attendance 29,560 for leicester last year. Highest home attendance 52,506 for lazio... This is not history, this is all Current. and it's a no brainer that a player would rather join Lazio than leicester?
MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Like I said, comparing Leicester to Lazio is simply wrong - for many different reasons. You're talking A-League to B-League here.

I actually thought you were debating that a player would rather join us than lazio! Look at the above quote, that is what I was replying too with the information about lazio, I was not trying to compare, as it;s a no brainer, but the above poster seems to think we are a better bet than lazio!
Bluearmy 316 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Has there been any more links to this guy looks class

If we get promotion then he's made the right choice coming to us if not then he should have joined Lazio. It's a tough one. That is a huge decision! He may not want the pressure of filling klose's boots. I think Nantes to Lazio playing in Europe is too big a step up. Lazio is certainly the more attractive move as posters have said but I feel we are the more realistic of the two (don't know who else is interested). He also could get a solid half season of English football under his belt and get used to the club set up before tasting to flight football in England rather than going straight into it in Italy. It's an interesting one though. Also think there is a lot more to come out of this. With us allegedly going in for him I wouldn't be surprised if Lazio moved their pre contract forward into an official bid to secure him (if they want him that bad) and apparently several other teams are sniffing around. I've heard from Fulham fans I know that they believe their club are close to a deal too?

If we get promotion then he's made the right choice coming to us if not then he should have joined Lazio. It's a tough one. On the face of it, its a no brainer, join Lazio. However, Lazio's owners have come under massive scrutiny recently. They haven't been paying players on time, owners insisting players be dropped if they don't think they are performing, amongst other things. One thing is for sure, his agent will suggest Leicester ahead of Lazio. Having said that, if Lazio are interested I'm sure there are plenty of other higher profile teams in not such precarious positions that are have scouted him.
Dan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Newcastle don't look so silly now do they. I hope we are the next newcastle, I love french players The idea of absolutely packing our squad with them doesn't appeal personally. I love the odd foreign player but it's about time in this country we started producing our own talent rather than poaching everyone in France & Spain. Understand that goes totally against what I said about the French market being great value but even so. Like I said, comparing Leicester to Lazio is simply wrong - for many different reasons. You're talking A-League to B-League here. If we went up I bet you we could offer bigger wages than them, as wrong as that is.
Happy Fox Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Trying to sign him on loan? Ed Aarons â€@ed_aarons2m Also told West Ham, Leicester and Cardiff all trying to sign Filip Djordjevic on loan from Nantes until end of season #whufc #lcfc #ccfc
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Trying to sign him on loan? Ed Aarons â€@ed_aarons2m Also told West Ham, Leicester and Cardiff all trying to sign Filip Djordjevic on loan from Nantes until end of season #whufc #lcfc #ccfc Cardiff have gone in for him today, i'd be astounded if we got him. I think this is a very real signing come the summer though.
Simonb Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Doubt it. I think pearsons happy with the front 5 as it is. Normally with a forward out youd assume ones coming in but waggy doesnt make the bench anyway
MikeyT Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Can't see this happening at all and we have enough up front now.
Big Dave Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Can't see this happening at all and we have enough up front now. You can never have enough up front in my opinion
MikeyT Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 You can never have enough up front in my opinion Vardy, Nugent, Philips, Wood, Schlupp, Taylor-Fletcher (sort of). Reckon we're alright with that lot.
