£1mil for the top scorer of a top half French side? I'm not convinced. £5mil I agree is OTT but £1mil is very cheeky.

Then again Ligue 1 is typically cheap. Wasn't Cabaye about four million?

Yeah but he has 8 in 19 and barring last year his best return since moving to France was 12 in 36 in a league inferior to our own. I don't doubt that he's a good player but he's reaching his peak, out of contract in 6 months and hardly a proven goalscorer at the top level. By that reckoning, Nugent and Wood, would be worth £5 million which they're not. £5 million is silly money.

£1 million for a player with 6 months left on his contract is similar to offering £4 million if he had a couple of years left which is a fair amount for him.

Can't argue with that.

I should have said that I think he'd be a good signing but not a priority for us. I think Ric's value is right in that they'll expect to receive for him. Oh, and yeah Cabaye did go very cheaply. He had a year left on his contract but Lille had just won the french league so he left a Champions League team for only £4 million which says a lot about the value's in France and how much a small amount of remaining time on contracts can play, in prices.

Anyone else think Wood might be off?

No, if this were to happen then It'd be Waghorn and Schlupp departing.

That would leave us with Nugent, Vardy, Djordevic, Wood and GTF (Who is probably more an attacking midfielder from what we've seen).

@JasonBourne1986: @Mladenovic_ @simonscutt Hi guys. Leicester are being linked with Filip ÄorÄ‘ević at Nantes. Is this anything you've heard about? Thanks.

@Mladenovic_: @JasonBourne1986 @simonscutt Can't see it. Pre-agreement in place with Lazio

Pfffttttt, Lazio!!!!  Why would he want to play his home games at the Stadio Olimpico when he can play at the King Power!

Not a problem, we'll have him until then. Won't need him once we've won the league anyway.

Clearly lazio are much bigger than us, but... We are potentially on the verge of premiership football. All (most) foreign players tell how they would love to play in the Prem. If we could persuade him with that and if he wants Prem football then you never know.

According to reports in the British press, including Leicester City have made an offer to Nantes striker Filip Djordjevic , some time in the sights of New York that would have him as the heir to Klose from next June, when his contract expires with the French club. The British company will try to burn the Italian competition by offering financial compensation to Nantes to start it right away.

He must be good if Lazio want him, be a major coup if we got him under their noses.
