hackneyfox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Have you settled on just how much promotion is worth per season?
RobHawk Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Also, did you know there was a search function so you don't have to start threads that are already being discussed?
cityfanlee23 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Have you settled on just how much promotion is worth per season? Huh? was this reffering to the thread ages ago? Promotion is worth an average of £95,000,000 - £130,000,000 for clubs gaining promotion (Dependant on ground, players, etc etc) I think I remember you talking to me about this figure a while back, This figure includes the promotion, and tv rights.. There are many figures posted around, but I follow Sports Business Group at Deloitte They are very well regarded for their market research I think when you queried it ages ago, I had made typos which I think i did mention at the time, it looked as if I was saying something else.. but this is what I meant!
hackneyfox Posted 21 January 2014 Author Posted 21 January 2014 Whre does it say 95 to 130 million per season? I keep seeing this figure bandied around but from what I've read it's 65 million per season as a minimum, the rest is parachute payments which obviously you don't count as I'm talking per season.
Babylon Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Isnt there private messaging on Foxestalk? Kind of takes away the fun of public ridicule though.
hackneyfox Posted 21 January 2014 Author Posted 21 January 2014 Isnt there private messaging on Foxestalk? I'm raising it again as I still keep seeing silly figures being thrown about.

Could you post the link to the thread for me please. I think he is referring to Lee's over eagerness to start a new Bakayogo thread.

Instead of trolling through threads looking for individual points to make, why don't you actually contribute to the thread with information regarding the topic of the thread?... Thanks.
sylofox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Even if you take into account parachute payments they are part of the package. So they still are relevant to what promotion is worth this season. If we don't go up we don't get the parachute payments. If we stop up its more.

Unless you mean "trawling", I have no idea what "trolling through threads" means. Did you just make that one up? EDIT: Wow, you learn something new every day.

No Lee has mentioned on a few occasions that promotion is worth 120 million per season. That's per season NOT if we get promoted and then relegated. From what I've seen promotion gives a minimum of 65m per season, someway short of 120m per season.
hackneyfox Posted 21 January 2014 Author Posted 21 January 2014 Business Group at Deloitte: http://fcbusiness.co.uk/news/article/newsitem=2428/title=%A3120m+premier+league+promotion+prize+for+the+eagles+or+hornets

hackneyfox Posted 21 January 2014 Author Posted 21 January 2014 So 65m for TV rights if you are bottom. Hopefully more for finishing above 17th and then whatever the increased turnover is at the club.

Maybe this is where the confusion is, I said before there was a mix up on a previous thread (Cannot find it now) I know that promotion is worth £120m in tv rights and promotion bonus for going up... Not every season... The Revenue of teams in the premiership averages £120m for promoted teams... I didnt mean we would make 120m profit per season, but our revenue would go up to £120m+ (dependant on club stature, fanbase, facilities and stadium etc) obviously thats without including outgoings

It was of value to the topic of the thread as its a point that was for your attention! I'm sure i'm not the only one who has noticed - just thought id make the point. I only explained my point as hackneyfox got a little confused! Chill your boots man!

Ok mate, I think if I remember rightly it's on the football documentary "the 4 year plan" about qpr, so I'll have a look tonight mate, I take this as a reliable source as it was a documentary made film that was "premiered" but I'll see if it's pointed anywhere else... I know it's a film/documentary but it is a "factual" documentary, it was discussed by the board and financial advisors on the documentary
cityfanlee23 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Average revenue for a champ club is 20-30m Average for a prem club is 6x that
