chili_con_carne Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 After 28 games last season we were second in the table with 50 points. We got 18 points from the last 18 games. Everyone getting way too confident.
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 But we're not 2nd with 50 points after 28 games this season?
kylestyle06 Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 And 18 points from now would still put us in a good position for automatics. Stop trying to make things look bad when we're in a very good position.
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 And what does that tell you?, we were nowhere near good enough for automatic promotion and playoff candidates at best which is where we finished. This season is totally different.
Captain... Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I agree with what you are saying, but lets enjoy it while the run continues, I'm sure that Pearson is keeping the players' feet on the ground, but we're fans, we can get carried away if we want.
chili_con_carne Posted 29 January 2014 Author Posted 29 January 2014 But we're not 2nd with 50 points after 28 games this season? And? 18 points from last 18 games would not see us get automatic promotion this season I don't think.
Buzzell Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 The position were in now in comparison to last year is much stronger, and with us looking incredibly stronger, it does look like this is our year but we should take it game by game.
Guest Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 We weren't in a position that 2 points a game meant we were assured of Promotion. this year we are. Let's enjoy the feeling. If things go downhill we'll hear enough of that. No promotion now would probably see NP sacked. That's incredible!
Out Foxed Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 we looked dodge even when we won last season. if you were switched on you knew we were flattering to deceive.
Smiithy Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 9/10 more wins and we'll have 90 odd points..
chili_con_carne Posted 29 January 2014 Author Posted 29 January 2014 I just think it's always better to think negative! then if it doesn't happen it's not as bad a feeling ! I will also be putting a bet on qpr to win the title so if we don't win it I will still be making a bit of money !
Simonb Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 1.5 pts per game from here in would be enough. 27 pts would take us 90.
chili_con_carne Posted 29 January 2014 Author Posted 29 January 2014 They are 2/1 for the title. £25 on that and if we **** things up I am 50 quid better off! Win win.
LanguedocFox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I think one of the reasons why last season's collapse after 28 games is unlikely to happen again is actually because of what happened last year. This group of players is more or less same as the one that went on that dreadful run - in other words, they are battle-hardened, and I don't think they will let it happen again. So that's us fvcked then...
chili_con_carne Posted 29 January 2014 Author Posted 29 January 2014 Okay okay everyone we are there. We are promoted already! We're in the promised land with 63 points. Lowest points tally ever to get promoted !!! Wooooooo. Idiots.
Captain... Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 They are 2/1 for the title. £25 on that and if we **** things up I am 50 quid better off! Win win. Unless Derby, or Burnley or Forest or Reading win the title. Then you are an even bigger loser.
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 And we haven't shown any sign of losing more than 2 on the bounce We are 13 points better off than our impressive points tally at this stage last year. Sorry if I don't want to look for negatives that aren't there
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Until it is official I won't say we are promoted but the signs are very good you have to say
Bert Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Okay okay everyone we are there. We are promoted already! We're in the promised land with 63 points. Lowest points tally ever to get promoted !!! Wooooooo. Idiots. So people can't presume we're already promoted but you can presume that we're going to lose 18 games on the trot?
A fox for life Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Okay okay everyone we are there. We are promoted already! We're in the promised land with 63 points. Lowest points tally ever to get promoted !!! Wooooooo. Idiots. your a **** mate, all people are saying at this point is that its hard to imagine the same sort of collapse as last season, Who is saying we're promoted?!! i for one was like you once but to be honest i'm ****ing enjoying being Top of The League and winning every game with free flowing attacking football!!!!!!
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Exactly Bert. I agree with the sentiment thatbwe should just focus on one game at a time but we have been. The mentality of the players is the difference this season from last.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 So people can't presume we're already promoted but you can presume that we're going to lose 18 games on the trot? The difference being that his presumption is based on what we already have (fact). Other people's (what I agree are premature) presumptions that we are already promoted are based on speculation.
foxfanazer Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I've not seen one person say we are already promoted. Sorry if I've missed these posts and feel free to point them out to me.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Let's be clear about this. We are not already promoted and if we don't make the playoffs from this position, baring a unexpected disaster, it will be good bye NP. If you look at any benchmarks or seasonal targets we are well on course if not in front of projections. There has been a mixture of ideas and forecasts on here and one that sticks in my mind is one that gave us 1 win in jan/feb but still enough points to go up. Having taken 9 from 9, no cup games a much much better squad than last year AND no one to unsettle the squad, in fact 3 of the players brought in should have the a positive effect I fail to see any reason for concern and last season has lite to no bearing on this season apart from motivating the players not to mess things up. And a couple of key players are a little more mature, are now stronger and fitter all positives that the likes if the OP chooses to ignore. Tell you what if you feel that it's going to go wrong get on Betfair and give some odds. I really find it hard to understand the OP's thinking. We have never been playing this well and are in a great position, being given a lot of respect by other managers and pundits. Just enjoy what's happening before it's to late.
