broughtonblue Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Just been quoted 16/1 that Nigel Pearson will become England manager in the next twenty years (2034) They wouldn't give a price on Liam Moore gaining a full cap How much should I put on Pearson then?
Webbo Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I reckon Roberto Martinez will be the next England manager meaning there won't be a vacancy for quite a few years yet. It just depends how he gets on in those intervening years. I wouldn't say it was impossible.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Jeez, let him get a team out of the second tier first.
Babylon Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Give me the money and let me kick you in the balls.... same result in the end.

Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Hopefully I really like Martinez. Yeh me too. He'd be a great choice.
Stadt Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Yeh me too. He'd be a great choice. He's a good pundit too
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Martinez would be cracking, but I think it will be a promotion from within and Neville.
Dan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 16/1 is absolutely awful odds. I agree that it'll be Martinez.
Stadt Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 16/1 is absolutely awful odds. I agree that it'll be Martinez. Yeah it should be 1/16
The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Don't think it'll be Martinez, they were pretty much forced to go for an English guy again and Woy to his credit hasn't been that bad.
broughtonblue Posted 8 February 2014 Author Posted 8 February 2014 Jeez, let him get a team out of the second tier first. Why? If he does get us up and does ok, or if he goes somewhere else in the future and does well his stock will rise. Odds will come down.
Guest Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Should only be allowed to take on an English manager!!
Stadt Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Pearson is a good manager and I'm a big fan of his but if he was that good of a manager he'd already be managing a top 6 club. However he does show a willingness to improve himself and to learn so he does have the potential but for him to even get half linked we'd or he would have to consistently achieve top 8 finishes. I don't think Pardew was linked to the England job at all and over last few years he has been the best English manager in terms of league position. Also I don't think international management would suit NP because he is a good tactical manager but a massive strength of his is his recruitment style and in my opinion he wouldn't work well with 'big time Charlies' of the England squad that perhaps wouldn't be bothered for some friendlies. But right now I bloody love Nige.

England are poor and their player pool and quality are greatly reducing year by year due to the amount of foreign players playing in the Englush leagues. Any half decent player has a chance with England now as they don't gave much to choose from.
