Manchester united FANS?

Recommended Posts

Absolutely atrocious,

Worst fans on the planet?

Had a little flick through the forums last night after the match,

Watching manchester united for the past couple of months, and last night included, The players are not playing for moyes, and most are not good enough to play modern style football.

Not sure if anyone watched it last night, they had a camera on moyes for the last 5 minutes, He was absolutely screaming them forward, they ran forward, then carrick would turn and pass back to the defence, to which moyes would be screaming even more... Simply ignoring his instructions.

Yet moyes is the only person they seem to be trying to blame.

Pathetic reading some of these posts. http://community.manutd.com/forums/7.aspx

IMO- Players that need to leave united:

Evra (Although could stretch another season)

Vidic (Doesnt want to be there as we know and will leave at the end of the season)

Ferdinand (100k per week and over the hill)

Carrick (Not good enough for moyes' pressing football)

Fletcher (Same as carrick)

Valencia (Not the player of his first season)

Nani (Never lived up to his potential, not world class)

Welbeck (OK at best but has big potential, just never looked like hitting it)

Giggs (As a player, he's on 75k per week as a player coach! lol)

I could add more, but again you are then faced with the issue of players not being able to jel with such a big axing... So I have bolded the players I think DEFINITELY NEED TO GO

Quote of the year, Not sure where i found this one on there! but I copied it at the time...

"No-one to blame but Ferguson...he told the board to appoint Moyes. Was it Fergusons all time plan to screw over Man U so that he looked brilliant and the new manager a numpty.....I think so...."

Why can fans never seem to learn?? It takes time for almost every manager to adjust to new teams and players, No matter how big.
Hope moyes can turn it round, I am a big admirer of what SAF done for united, and moyes deserves a chance.

Let him get HIS team in, and prove himself.

Thoughts?

Please if all you can say is "I hate manchester united I hope they keep falling" Do not comment.. it's pointless,

To those who are willing to actually talk some sense, as a neutral.. just what is going wrong???

Is moyes good enough? can he turn it around?

I think he has been left with a somewhat 'average' squad and isn't as good as other teams around them. If you take Van Persie, Rooney and Carrick out I don't really rate the squad at all.

That said, the transfers haven't really helped him. Fellaini as the biggest example. I haven't met one Manchester United fan that agrees with the signing of Fellaini. Mata, now he is World Class and I do like him, but that's £64million already. I believe they lack a goalscoring midfielder. Look through United's history, they've generally had a midfielder that can score goals, whether it be Beckham, Cantona, Keane, Giggs and especially Scholes, but this has been a problem for ages which only shows as they tempted Scholes out of retirement.

They are going through a massive period where the squad needs real changes. It might take a while, and their fans might not see United dominating for a bit now. But then, have they had their time? I believe football rolls around and throughout history clubs have dominated English football at one point; Huddersfield, Liverpool, Preston etc. United dominated the PL and might not win it for a time now. Would anybody have thought Liverpool would go this long without the title? What about Arsenal? etc.

Agree 100% which is why I think it is mad that manchester united fans after 25 amazing years, they have the nerve to call out a manager after a few months?? INSANE

With regard to fellaini, We all know how good he was at everton, I think he will come good.. Rooney is playing his best football this season in 2-3 years, they just looked clueless last night but I don't think that was down to moyes, they were clearly not following his instructions (Towards the end anyway)

Personally I don't think he's good enough. It's all well and good saying the players aren't good enough aswell but this is the same team that won the league last season.

Moyes fvcked up big time in the summer chasing and bidding for players and then when nothing materialised he panic bought Fellaini who was well overpriced.

If Man Utd don't qualify for this seasons champions league they will be in serious for several years as they'll struggle to attract players.

I think it's mainly the internet types who are on his back.

Those United fans I know who actually watch the games properly understand that they've been just as unlucky this season as they have been poor (not to mention just as unlucky this season as they were lucky last).

The support in the ground for Moyes (particularly away) remains good. Astonishingly I read a well-recommended post on the Guardian blog saying that those supporters going away with United are letting the club down by continuing to support the manager.

I really don't think you can blame Moyes for the transfer debacle but I agree entirely that it becomes a lot more difficult to attract players if you're out of the Champions League, or at least a lot more expensive.

it looks like they've had their time. stability is all well and good but SAF has built that club, and still works behind the scenes. going to be a long time before moyes, or anyone else can manage a team they can truly call their own

Glad to hear there are some with a brain!!

I've not come across a united fan yet who thinks moyes is not shite, which is insane..

I hope he does get them back to the top to be honest, always been fond of them... Jealosy is a big factor in football, If we were as big as united and won as much of them for 25 years, our fans would be exactly the same..

I would rather seen united on top than man city,

Ferguson although he has spent big money on a few players, he certainly did not "BUY" the league.. United didnt have a youth system when he arrived.. He built it, and look at the world stars that have come through since..

I think they have the right ethos personally.. but the fans let the club down, not for supporting moyes, but for generally being morons..

Moyes will win the league with united in the next 2 seasons (Which he will be given IMO)

Again personally I think moyes will get it spot on soon enough!

I'm sure time will tell, but I think fellaini was not a "Panic buy" him and baines were first targets IMO...

Herrera will come in the summer, him and fellaini will be quality IMO

Last night it was obvious what the problem was, United defence was "stable" enough.. not good, but stable...

The midfield were absolutely atrocious, Rooney, RVP and Mata looked off the boil, but to top it off they were feeding from nothing.

Carrick and cleverley couldnt do anything right last night IMO..

RVP will be off in the summer.

would not surprise me in the slightest, Worth his weight in gold last season and almost single handedly won them the league with the important goals he scored.. (And the amount)

Who would replace?

Hernandez will go surely?

Disagree with this. Every team that has won the league in the Premier League era has bought it. They might not have done it overnight like your Chelsea's or Man City's, but Man Utd have spent an absolute fortune on players. Agree with you about the fantastic youth system he implemented, but I hate this idea that Man Utd haven't bought the league with the amount of money they've spent:

Berbatov £30m

Ferdinand £30m

Veron £30m

Rooney £30m

Van Persie £24m

Anderson £20m

Ruud £20m

De Gea £20m

Young £17m

Jones £17m

Valencia £16m

Hargreaves £17m

Carrick £19m

And this is before getting on the "lesser fees" for your Yorke's, Stam's, Nani's, Ronaldo's, Kagawa's etc. who all cost in excess of £10m.

If Fellaini wasn't a panic buy why didn't he get him in at the start of the summer when he would have been cheaper and had more time to settle in. The fact that he bought him on the last day of the window and had to spend an extra £4 million shows he was a panic buy and as his first targets never came.

I agree with you in terms of United, but Arsenal never strike me as a team that brought it. If you look back when they were title challengers, their great side of Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Vieira etc weren't that expensive when you consider the fees United paid, and now City and Chelsea pay. Wenger once said United would buy a £20million player each summer, where as Arsenal wouldn't.

The Fellaini deal reminds me of our Beckford deal. Manager didn't get who he actually wanted, it's the last day of the transfer window, so we need to get someone. I think Moyes went out to get at least one player, even if it was "just for the sake" of a signing.

Only thing is this is over 25 years! Every team at the top needs to do this...

They say that you have "3 squads" or "4 squads"

Alex ferguson used 3-4 squads in his time, and personally think he done very well... especially as they sell quite well aswell...

Liverpool have spent 300-350m in the last 5 years.. which united have spent over around 10 years

In the last 10 seasons, Here is the spendings and trophies won in that time:

Manchester City, £572 million — 3 trophies

Chelsea, £673 million — 12 trophies

Man city,  £572 m illion - 3 trophies (Although  we know that is over 4 years not 10)

Liverpool, £414 million — 6 trophies

Tottenham hotspur   £353 million -  1 trophy

Manchester united  £352 million - 16 trophies  - 38 including all trophies like Community shield, world club cup etc.

Arsenal, £214 million — 4 trophies

Aston Villa, £201 million — 0 trophies
Sunderland, £187 million — 0 trophies
Newcastle United, £174 million — 1 trophy

Manchester united have spent Less than most of its close rivals, but the ones it has spent more than (Arsenal for example) they have won far more trophies.

which IMO is not "Buying" the league, As spending 30m on players is needed nowadays to have any chance.

Wigan have even spent £110 million

I think to have challenged the world triphies for so long.. and have achieved 38 trophies in 25 years having spent less than most of their close rivals, Is the way to run a football club.

Silly argument, you can't look at it in the last 10 years, United and Arsenal (who as you have pointed out have spent over 100 million less getting there, they're a proper example of building a title winning side on a budget) were the sides to beat 10 years ago, in United's case, because they'd been chucking money around for the 15 years previous to that as they were one of the fist and most successful clubs to float on the stock market. So everybody else had to spend silly money just to get a squad together that could even compete with them both. Hate it when people make Man U to be a team that doesn't spend money, they chuck it around left right and center and have been doing so since the mid 90's just inflation and the fact they've been doing it over a longer period of time hides that fact.

On subject Moyes has had some bad luck but regardless they aren't and wont be good enough to finish top 4 until they invest in some serious talent, but I think their more likely to lose top players in the summer than bring them in.

And whilst his squad perhaps isn't as good as Fergusons, Moyes has made some bad mistakes, Fellani was a waste of time, it's early days but he's struggling to get the best out of Mata by sticking him out wide, he vastly over rates Januzaj (along with half of the English media) has a fantastic player in Shinji Kagawa sat there doing nothing, if you asked him what his best center half pairing is I doubt he'd have a clue, and he's still giving Tom Cleverly minutes on the pitch. He's far from blameless

Is that net spend? Or total outlay ignoring players sold?

I actually think there's an element of truth in that. I think they've gone a bit overboard but I do think Ferguson saw this coming in a way although I highly doubt it was his 'plan' for this to happen.

It's only natural a lot online are in meltdown - a lot only 'support' them because they were winning everything. Glory hunters are a complain stain on the sport.

Outlay I can tell just looking at Arsenal's figure. United would be higher if it was net as Liverpool and Spurs would be below them I bet, as I've said, the "they don't spend money" and "the sell really well" thing is total total myth as , they don't sell well, they sold Ronaldo, well done.
