Jakemoore Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Oh who cares?!? We don't fill our ground anyway. A100 boozed up students can only help!
AndWhat? Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 http://www.dmu.ac.uk/dmu-students/hot-topics/february-2014/the-great-leicester-city-ticket-giveaway.aspx Insulting From a business point of view, they are giving away tickets to people who probably wouldn't have come to those games, therefor hoping that they spend money on food and drink and future sales. Doesn't really annoy me that much.
Munshi Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Its in the corners that don't get filled anyway so not bothered.
JonnyBoy Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 you would be so pissed off though if you are a seson ticket and on minimum wage.... a lot of students have more money you might think. My parents pay for my rent which leaves me with £1200 a term (approx 10 weeks) so spend on whatever i like. That is around £100 a week, - £30/£40 on food as i try to eat well/ that's £60 a week on doing what you like!
lavrentis Posted 21 February 2014 Author Posted 21 February 2014 I feel sorry for those that would normally have to pay £29 to sit in the same area
Fox92 Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I'd be more offended if they were for the platinum games where tickets are really expensive, but when it's against the likes of Yeovil, Blackpool, Charlton (no offence), the ground won't be totally filled anyway and I can't see those games in particular being attractive for fans who don't attend every home game. From a business point of view the owners get more money in via these people probably buying things in the stadium. edit: Are these games £29? In which case, yeah, that's pretty insulting for real fans who have to pay this figure to attend.

MattGamble92 Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I feel sorry for me £269 on a season ticket Hundreds more on travel because I'm at a uni miles away But it was okay to get rid of the student deals seen as "only hundreds" took the deal up. Don't bother trying to increase that number and ensure fans for the future then you clueless pricks. Any complaint will only result in a patronising email from "Jim".

JonnyBoy Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Lucky you, I know people who have to work to pay their rent and buy food. yea i do appreciate i am in a priveledged position. You will get people though who literally have ridiculous amounts of money that twist the system and get all sorts of grants

I am a student and who is 21 so what am i going to do? not paying full price. Bollocks to that
Guest MattP Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 My mate does it now instead of actually paying for a ticket. Gets it for a fiver in the corner and then just walks to the middle and sits in the best seat he can find anyway. Sat in a £39 seat V Watford for a fiver, not bad at all. If people arent bothered you are a better person than me, supporters who are desperate to go every week have to pay for it, those who probaly aren't that bothered, fancy it every now and then and are at Uni can go for free. No idea how anyone can defend it really?
lavrentis Posted 21 February 2014 Author Posted 21 February 2014 Most students that will go won't even be Leicester fans anyway and wouldn't have heard of any of the players.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 yea i do appreciate i am in a priveledged position. You will get people though who literally have ridiculous amounts of money that twist the system and get all sorts of grants Yeah agreed, but there are always people struggling.
JonnyBoy Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Yeah agreed, but there are always people struggling. yea i see your point they're are, but giving tickets away for free? tramps who live on the street who are city fans don't event get that privelege. they should charge a tenner
blueonyou Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Oh not this debate again. Tell you what, let's make it free for everyone and go bust? Or not do these promotions for people who wouldnt otherwise be there and have entire blocks empty?
Leicester Lass Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 DMU subsidise the tickets by the way, not LCFC. They paid us a huge amount in relation to the business partnership.

Why not do it for fans who have bought tickets through the season and can't afford to go to so many games a month?

Or not do these promotions for people who wouldnt otherwise be there and have entire blocks empty? its just pissing on loyal Leicester fans who have been for years paying ridiculous prices. End of topic

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 DMU subsidise the tickets by the way, not LCFC. They paid us a huge amount in relation to the business partnership. Correct. I work for Leicester Uni and we got stuck with the Tigers partnership instead. Pah.

And it seems you're in the same situation as me.
Corky Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 DMU subsidise the tickets by the way, not LCFC. They paid us a huge amount in relation to the business partnership. Doesn't seem like a great deal if they are getting rid of 300 tickets for free when they were £5 originally.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 The bigger problem is that gold fixtures shouldn't be £29 to begin with. Yes, it's in line with what other clubs charge, and they're wrong too.
