Is this season your most satisfying as a Leicester fan?

I've supported us since 2005-06 and I was a bit young to appreciate league 1 so this season has been incredible.

Just knowing that we'll probably win is amazing.

We have bounced back quicker than most, look how long it took Forest & Leeds to get out of the 3rd tier, look at previous Playoff rivals like Cambridge & Swindon, while not as big a club as us at the time... Neither have been many to stay in the Prem for a number of years.

Look how long it could still take Forest & Leeds to get back into the top tier where it looks highly likely we could do it this, season. Whereas they're ran by jokers & could still languish for years more.

.

It has also taken us a decade to look like bouncing back to the top flight. There's nothing in it.

No

The sublime football we played under David Pleat was a Joy to behold. Slick passing. quality signings, bumper crowds.

Nice to see that Pleat was committed to the area too - he ( allegedly) spent a lot of money just up the road from where I lived.

It is satisfying, but there's also a huge slice of vindication playing into it.

I think it's just been the perfect time to be in this position and it feels right to possibly come back up after a meagre ten-year hiatus.

Can't tell whether we could've/would've gone up earlier than this.

I've been attending regular as a STH since 02/03, so this season is the best I've seen probably. I have confidence, not arrogance, going into games these days. Our football really is great to watch, and Nige really has built up a great squad here.

O'Neils promotion season, with Claridge's shinner at Wembley was pretty much unbeatable.

But this season has become our best in terms of domination. If we keep up like this it will go into the archives as possibly our best season ever.

Yep

I got a lot of joy out of Little's years too.

Weird how while everyone knows we've exceeded their preseason expectation there doesn't seem to be the sheer unbridled joy our league position & domination of the league would suggest there should be.

It seems a little bit of relief, but mainly an expectation, which given where we've been for 10 years, (it's hardly like we're Newcastle when they made a cameo appearance in the league for a season.) seems a tad odd.

Although I think the sheer amount of daylight to 2nd & in particular 3rd is causing the joy & satisfaction to rise to the top a bit more

I've been a fan since I understood football and what it meant to support a team. Some of the football that we have played this  season is the best I have seen for pure joy.  We were and have been very good in spells in the past as has been well documented above, especially the O'Niell years and more so under Bloomfield. This team is the best I have seen and gives me great hope for next season and beyond. :scarf:

Really? :D

Like all clubs of our size we bounce between being good and being shit. It's the natural order of things. I don't see that adversity has much to do with it.

Relegation to our lowest ever point? Bounced back as champions.

Entered administration. Promoted to the prem, first season after relegation.

Lost in the playoffs at Watford. Storming this league.

Lost two playoff finals in a row 91/92, 92,93 then won it in 93/94. Got relegated, but came straight back up.

No doubt I will get shot down for this but being relegated from the championship on that fateful day was almost the best thing that could of happened to us. We were a side treading water for years. We got relegated to league 1 and like a Phoenix from the ashes we came back stronger and better than ever. Dominated league 1 and playoffs first year back.

Many people see it the same way.

Lots of clubs return following relegation to their lowest point. That's why it's their lowest point.

We're winning the league because we're the best team in it. Not because we lost to Watford. That might have some impact on the mentality of the players but it isn't 'the club'.

We kept getting to play off finals because we were good enough to do so. The previous defeats again may have impacted the players of that time, but that's the players not 'the club'.

We won promotion for precisely the reasons we went into administration; because we spunked cash we didn't have on players too good for this level.

All you've done is list events in the club's history. Most are completely unrelated and you could find much the same in any other club. The club is not an organic thing with a 'determined to bounce back from adversity' personality. It's bricks and mortar; a gathering plave for the community.

Events in the early 90s, early 00s and now have no relation to one another whatsoever. They're just things that happened.

I was giving examples of the club bouncing back from adversity. If them events aren't adverse, please enlighten to me as to what is.

Ive been used to watching us win in battling or scrappy fashion down the years, from Adam's route 1 approach in the 02/03 season (which worked a treat!) to Martin O'Neills outwork the opposition/never give up style of football.

This season thus far has been the most complete ive ever seen us play, slick football and far more in tune with the upper level than this one. If we go up, which it looks like we will, I think we're better equipped with a side that's been allowed to grow over time than we ever were before.

It as been amazing, it's great going away and actually seeing us win! It's also been very long, seems ages since we made that long coach trip to Carlisle away! There's so many memories in one season! It's very exhausting stuff following leicester

You're missing my point. Of course those events are adverse but that we have bounced back from them is not the result of some mysterious personality trait we have as a club. Almost all of the things you listed are a result of the club's economy. Historically we have one of the smaller economies when in the top flight, which is why we don't attract the best players at that level and this struggle. At this level we have one of the biggest economies, can pay more for players than most competitors, so we end up near the top.

Excellent management or terrible mismanagement can take us above or below our natural level (see the Gillies/ O'Neill eras versus the Pleat/00s periods) but generally we will find our way back to our natural level. It's all about the size of the club. We're no different to your Stoke Citys, West Broms, Norwich Citys (all at their upper level of performance at the minute) or your Wolves, Sheffield Uniteds, Coventry Citys or Portsmouths (all at the lower end, the latter two in extraordinary financial circumstances).
