His lack of pace is a real downside to his game, nothing for Was and Morgan to worry about, stop the supply line and Rhodes won't give us any real problems. 3-1 win. Vardy, Mahrez and Phillips. Rhodes is a very average footballer but has a real goalscoring knack. He'll have to be marked carefully but I still maintain he'd not get in our side.

It tells you something that he very rarely gets into the Scotland squad due to his 'all round play' not being good enough. Relies too much on the service from wide men to get chances. As a poacher he's very good but I'd rather have Nugent and Vardy, as you said.

Captain... Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 I wouldn't take a draw, but then if we do I wouldn't be disappointed, unless we squander a lot of chances. Blackburn shouldn't be underestimated and our league position will either make them withdraw and go defensive, or raise their game. Everyone wants to beat top of the league. A win for them could put them back in the play off hunt, I don't expect an easy game, but I wouldn't take a draw because we have more than enough to beat them, even away from home and if they raise their game, I am more worried they will park the bus and we will end up with a shite 0-0.

How far has Rhodes got them? People are too obsessed by stats and ignore what actually makes a team successful.

From what I can see, his goal-scoring record for the past two seasons in a very mediocre (lets face it, crap) Blackburn team is pretty exceptional. As for his all-round play.. do you REALLY know? There is so much dismissal of other players and other clubs on this forum (ie not us), that its laughable. It's ok to be a City fan and still respect what other players at other clubs are doing you know. You won't die if you do or be not a part of the 'in-crowd'.

I'm not going to pretend I've watched loads of Blackburn, but you would think for someone so highly rated, you would at least notice he was playing. The Blackburn fan in this thread admits 'Ings is twice the player Rhodes is', that is some statement to make about a rival striker who's scored a similar amount. I know I won't die if I'm in the 'in-crowd', I have my own thoughts on things and I don't deliberately go against things for the sake of it being the common opinion, although it does annoy me when people jump on the bandwagon of things that aren't justified. For what it's worth - Rhodes is my fantasy team captain. I'll never knock his goals record but he's literally never caught my eye.
