World cup victory in Brazil or Prem survival?

World cup victory or relegation survival?

  1. 1. If only one could happen, do you choose England to win the world cup in Brazil, or we stay in the Premiership?

What a thread!

**** me, all you do is bang on about the England team in the General Football part of the forum, what a hypocrite.

I doubt you're even English, I suspect your a Pole who came over here late 2008.

Quite worrying how you have the opinions you do about footballers, were you not around to see what Peter Taylor paid average Leicester players? Who were arrogant nobheads.

lol

What a ridiculous thing to say, this probably the stupidest thing someone has said out of everything.

Like people have said, if the question was World Cup or a major trophy then I could really understand a lot of you saying the trophy, but Premier League survival? Absurd.

Winning the World Cup means you are from the best footballing nation in the world for the next four years, Premier League survival? You're the 17th best team in England but still not as good as Norwich, Stoke or Hull.

Where is Prussian in this thread? Quite worrying he hasn't had his two penneth involved in this.

Its not really stupid and ridiculous though is it. If he's scoring regularly for Leicester next season he should be given a chance.

If we're fighting to stave off relegation and nothing else mattered I'm Leicester through and through but the poll question is not reality.....it cannot happen.

Love polls that make no logical sense but bring out such debate.....had these non logic chats with my ex wife many times.

I'm Leicester over England every day but England winning the World Cup would be a dream to watch.

finishing 17th in the prem next season would be an achievement in our first season back in the top flight

I think people are underestimating the importance of survival

I think people are overestimating the long-term significance of finishing 17th in the League.

its taken us 10 years to get back there after watching a hell of a load of shite in between...think about it!!!!

I love England and hope they win the World Cup but I'd still rather have Leicester survival.

TBH I'd choose a 4-0 double over Forest rather than win the World Cup.

City first and foremost forever for me.

I haven't missed your point you've obviously done it to avoid having to converse with the little Englanders in question, I was just being pedantic.

But it's a world wide problem, so I don't see why the actions of a few idiots leads to  you tarring a whole footballing nation with the same brush. Especially when other western European nations are just as bad, Eastern European nations are far fcking worse, and world wide there would be few country's who could claim they have less morons than us, especially since most of the real offenders have had their right to travel during major tournaments taken away......

It's like Club football, every club has it's idiots. A mate of mine was at one of our games in the mid 00's when Mark De Vries was played a through ball which he decided to not bother running for, someone three rows in front of him shouted "you'd of chased that if it was a bunch of bananas you lazy cvnt". I'd consider us one of the best fan bases for anti racism due to ethnic make up of Leicester but there are always a few. If you can't put up with the minority of football fans being idiots time to start following a different sport.

If you have a problem with nationalism you have a problem with international football not England.

I broadly agree. I don't despise England - given the choice I'd have them win the tournament - and I agree that nationalism in general, rather than specifically English nationalism, is what I have a problem with. But as I'm English I tend to see a lot more English nationalism! Put simply, I'm uncomfortable with how patriotism tends to manifest itself, so over the years this has eaten away at my support for the national team. I'm not too keen on getting caught up in all the flag-waving and national anthems and people telling me how amazing it is to be English. It's not going to lead to World War Three but it can all get a bit ethnocentric at times.

And you're right about club football - I've seen plenty of idiots there. If the degree to which we like our own fans were a key factor in supporting a club then I'd have fallen out with Leicester years ago! It's the wider issue of how dangerous the extremities of national pride can be that affects my apathy towards the England team, or any other national team. It goes beyond a few fights in the town centre after a local derby. But that's not to say that the bulk of English fans would become Anglo-supremacists the minute we qualified for the second round; nor that I want the team to do badly. I'm only justifying why I put club before country.

Those traitors who have chosen world Cup over City survival, would you also choose World Cup over City promotion?

Nope, this season will live longer in the memory than a mediocre 17th next year.

a 17th next season will be a good result and the pleasure of watching your team compete against some of the best teams in the world is great. Don't underestimate the pleasure and pain you will get next season.

Conversely, I don't underestimate the memories that will be created by a once-in-a-lifetime England WC win, I guess it's just not the same for others.

Certainly not.

I've already had a England WC win in my lifetime, if we won again it wouldn't be a once in a lifetime, they'll certainly have other chances during your lifetime.

For me I'd tak City being in the prem for the rest of my life over England winning a World Cup - nice as that would be.

1966 way a long way before my time  lol

If that was the choice then I certainly would too, just 17th with no guarantee of sustaining it vs a memorable WC win is no question for me.

Club.

Only time I watch international friendlies is if one of our players is playing. Watching them represent the club on the international stage is such an achievement.

As for england,

No desire.

Why bother supporting if they don't even care?

lcfc every time , i watch them week in week out , only watch england a handful of times a year , no brainer for me and true blue's
