StanSP Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 With it looking likely that promotion will be secured at some point very soon within the next 7 days, someone on Twitter pointed out something quite uncanny. The last time Leicester City got promoted to the Premier League was through victory over Brighton on 19th April 2003. Next Tuesday could see us officially promoted to the Premier League. We play Brighton and it could be the match where victory seals our return to the big time. Any other quirks or events that have happened this season which replicated past events in a seriously uncanny way?
Woollett's Wellies Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Not something that has yet happened but I love the possibility that a Kermogant goal in the Bournemouth v QPR game could put us up.
Finnaldo Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Not something that has yet happened but I love the possibility that a Kermogant goal in the Bournemouth v QPR game could put us up. could you imagine, it would be like out of Mike Bassett: England Manager. Post-match Barnsley, March 2013. Stringer: "so Nige, are you going to leave yet?" Pearson: "fvck off Stringer. I'm staying and we're playing 4-4-fvcking-2."
lcfc278 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Potential one, last time we won this division (old division 2) Liverpool won the top league. Could happen again?
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Also, the only previous time we were in the same league as Yeovil we won it.
Albert Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The last time we won the 2nd Tier title in English Football, Liverpool won the first division...
MattGamble92 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 There has been a Leicester team in the Premier League during ever Conservative reign and this is the last possible season we can keep that record. And we have.
broughtonblue Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 There has been a Leicester team in the Premier League during ever Conservative reign and this is the last possible season we can keep that record. And we have. Why is this the last possible season?
beemeroo Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Why is this the last possible season? Perhaps he means term.
JJS84 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The season we won league 1 wolves won the championship. This season we might win the champo and it looks like wolves will win league one. That's a funny little quirk. Not that interesting mind you.
ealingfox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 The last time we went on an epic unbeaten run it was sparked by a defeat away at Brighton in which we shipped 3 goals (League One).
StanSP Posted 2 April 2014 Author Posted 2 April 2014 The last time we went on an epic unbeaten run it was sparked by a defeat away at Brighton in which we shipped 3 goals (League One). You just had to go and ruin it all!
Father Ted Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Our current unbeaten record of 23 games, achieved in League One, began following a 3-2 loss away at Brighton. Our current unbeaten run of 20 games began following a 3-1 loss away at Brighton... The last time we achieved promotion to the Premier League, back in 2002/03, we beat Brighton 2-0 at home to secure promotion. We play Brighton at home on Tuesday night with this looking likely to be the game... The last time we won the Second division (1979/80 season), Liverpool won the first division title. When we won League One, Wolves topped the Championship. It's written in the stars
bluesbrothers Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Urgh, thank you for reminding me of THAT loss at Brighton.
Alexikokopops Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Urgh, thank you for reminding me of THAT loss at Brighton. It was a horror show, wasn't it? 2-0 up at half time, lost 3-2. All 5 goals happening at the far end when you could barely see the near goal (thanks to the running track). EURGH.
MrSpaM Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Not something that has yet happened but I love the possibility that a Kermogant goal in the Bournemouth v QPR game could put us up. I think I'd complete forgive him for that penalty if that was the case
