fuchsntf Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Shoe on the other foot I can see where they're coming from, although dreadful is an exaggeration we played some really good stuff in the first half . There's a reason we beat them though and that being a bit of quality, defended well enough to keep them out and the reason they had more efforts was because they fired most of them down kaspers throat from long range, even their goal should of been stopped. Ditto..Ditto, plus our passing was not so crisp, our midfield didnt fight for that 2nd ball as we are accustomed, though we werent so fluid, I still thought we played well.Spot on in diffence in quality, alot to do with confidence of 20 games unbeaten. Another point, funny knocky sometimes too greedy then Mahrez scores a great goal with a run, but for me does not take his man on enough, 1 over doing it the other under doing it. What do you think... By the way, I might contradict you sometimes, but I like your posts
Father Ted Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Replays showed every offside decision against us being just about right. There were a couple that we couldn't argue with but a couple that were very marginal. Second half when Wednesday had a good spell, there were three very blatant offsides that he never called and Wes went berserk at him.
LCCFox96 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Antonio was a real handful, and the direct style was looking pretty effective towards the end. Once again we've just about done enough which is all you need This. Antonio was a real handful tonight and a top performer for Wednesday. Caused De Laet problems every other time he ran at him. He did well to create the opening for his goal too.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 There were a couple that we couldn't argue with but a couple that were very marginal. Second half when Wednesday had a good spell, there were three very blatant offsides that he never called and Wes went berserk at him. As I say the one's given against us were great calls, the marginal one's you mention were great decisions hardly anything in them but he got them right. I couldn't tell you about a few of there's as there were no replays but on the whole the Linesman had a decent game, better than the ref.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Can see why they're pissed off. They should have had at least a point and probably a penalty at the end. Now the dust has settled I'm happy get strangely disappointed at the same time. There's a fine line between success and failure and if we had conceded late then people would be raging about a number of things. For me, the worst thing was the lack of control in those last 20 minutes. Some of our passing was atrocious at times and we put pressure on ourselves. I was going mental as pass after pass seemed to go straight into touch. Still, being champions is all about getting results when you don't play well and we dug in. However, we are a lot better than we showed at the end there. This could easily have been a poor result. Should just add that if you'd have offered me 7 points from Burnley, Wigan and Wednesday then obviously I'd have taken that!
Agent Fox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Well done to Wednesday, good fans tonight and the team were decent. All clubs have moronic fans, Wednesday's appear to have congregated on that thread. We're up they're not, that's all we need to say.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I think we need to be more forgiving of our players. We were on the brink last night BEFORE the game (and still are this morning). There's an awful lot of pressure on the players. Passes are going to go astray. We are going to make silly mistakes. Until we are up, the pressure is there. We need to just back off a bit.
Sampson Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Im really starting to develop a soft spot for Sheff.weds. I remember the year i think we beat them 4-0 at home i think it was? There fans cheered like they scored every time they had a shot. The best was them doing the conga around the away end tho They seem like a good bunch and i hope they do well next year. I think you're confusing them with Cheltenham Town in League One, who were the ones who did the conga in an out of the concourses an were cheering and singing songs even when 4-0 down.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Agree. Great club, fantastic fans in terms of atmosphere and general mentality, always seem a friendly lot. Hope they're back in the Prem soon! Yeh friendly as you can get when dodging smoke grenades and coins

Completely agree, I can still see Keegan on Sky when his Newcastle side were 12 points clear of Man Utd and losing out, a few weeks back I thought that could have been us, not anymore, hopefully get the party started on Tuesday

tartanowl Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 One of them on their forum said they'd rather have Megson over Pearson... Some of our fans didn't want him sacked and just can't let him go. He wasn't even a stand out player when he was playing, he was half decent in the top flight, and he did an adequate job with a big budget as a manager in the 3rd division too. His dad Don Megson however was a quality player. Some just love him because he's a Wednesday fan but he's a footballing dinosaur that uses outdated methods. Nobody has taken a chance on him since we sacked him and that speaks volumes. Any fan that would rather have Megson than Pearson is absolutely deluded.
ImBlue Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Agree. Great club, fantastic fans in terms of atmosphere and general mentality, always seem a friendly lot. Hope they're back in the Prem soon! Looked like a bunch of thugs to me, they were loud mind.

Me and my mate was saying this too. Bound to be playing on their minds with the finishing line so close.
Corky Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Wednesday looked a decent side, who with additions could prove surprise contenders next year. Don't agree with Pearson that we were miles better, very close match. I hope you win your next game
TheLeftSide Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Was the bloke who ran on the pitch on Wednesday fan?
Kitchandro Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 Fair play to the Wednesday fans on this forum, they've always been decent posters. The ones on that thread though sound like a right bunch of twats. I don't think we were by far the better side either but you can't go round calling managers deluded and then come out with some of the crap on there, as if you know everything about a team you've probably seen a handful of times. If you think Drinkwater will struggle in the Prem based on this season you should probably just keep your mouth shut tbh. You're just going to sound silly. Unnecessary comments about Pearson as well. It's just fashionable to hate other clubs' managers even if they are one of your club legends. How bitter. They need to accept it's our season and not their's. We've got a far better chance of staying up in the Premiership than them considering we'll actually be there!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I would like to see Wednesday go up next season. They are a good club, with plenty of descent supporters.
