filbertboy Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 My neighbour.................a Wolves fan who has never shut up from that game when we were 3-0 up and lost 4-3, this season he has kept saying we will be playing you soon mate..........ha ha no you wont ! .....and every glory fan I have ever worked with......support your home town team !!!
Raw Dykes Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 It seems all of the clubs in the West Country seem to think like that. 'If we just got into the Premier League, we'd be massive, etc.', 'catchment area' blah blah blah. Truth is they don't have any top-flight clubs because it's not a football region and it's full of backward, straw-eating, pitchfork-brandishing numpties What they don't seem to realise is that, while it does look like a large catchment area on a map, you also have to bear in mind the fact that the area is very sparsely populated. No fvcker lives there! Same as Wales. You can see it very clearly if you look at a general map of roads- it looks like someone's dropped a plate of spaghetti on England, and a few hairs on Wales. As for the OP's question. Watford, after last season's smug bellendery. The delusional Brizzle City fans on this forum during the Maynard saga. My Wolves supporting mate. Cardiff - I'm going to love seeing them crash back down to Earth on our way up.
The Guvnor Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 To be fair to folk in the West Country, they all support Man U. Actually that makes them bigger tossers Not true half support Liverpool
Basingstoke Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Coventry City supporters. Revelled in our relegation to League One and their survival (quite naturally), hoping to see us struggle in the wilderness for years whilst they challenged for promotion. The next year we return, overtake them, reach a couple of play-offs, they stagnate, go down to League One, sit in mid-table and homeless as we rise two divisions above them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwcPCnArR7c Party on, guys. LEICESTER'S GOING DOWN They're laughing now, they're laughing now, they're laughing! LEICESTER'S LAUGHING NOW!
Foxy Mofo Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 All my Pompey and Chelsea supporting mates at college, never let me forget that 6-1 where Micheal Brown took on our entire team.
The Doctor Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I seem to remember Plymouth fans in the days of us taking Hollowhead from them saying that they'd make it to the prem before us...
langtonfox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Can anyone remind me why we hate Forest? (I always found Cloughie an entertaining character) sorry!
itsblueupnorth Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Has to be all the Blackpool fans at my sons school in Poulton le Fylde who have been giving him stick for the previous 3 or 4 seasons - we'll not this one lads now get in Div1 where your tinpot club belongs - could be playing the mighty Fleetwood next season
Elsie Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 My nephew. Born in Leicester. Schooled in Leicester. Works (kind of) in Leicester. Supports ... Arsenal, just because his Dad (the 70553r) who was also born and raised in Leicester, supports them. My youngest son doesn't like football (forgive me, I have failed) but he cheers if he hears that York City have won as that was where he was born. To any glory fan born or living in Leicester, up yours!
Happy Fox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 RedHux seems awfully quite these days... And Tinman as well.
Sir Shep Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 My nephew. Born in Leicester. Schooled in Leicester. Works (kind of) in Leicester. Supports ... To any glory fan born or living in Leicester, up yours! Isn't treason still a capital offence?

To any glory fan born or living in Leicester, up yours! Yeah, but I can see this. I was born and brought up in leicestershire, then moved to hampshire. My son is hants born, but is a massive city fan because of me. And I hope if he ever has kids, they will be brought up the right way, ie city fans as well. And on it goes.... so I suppose he could be criticised by southampton fans in exactly the same way you criticised the arsenal fan. Born in hants, schooled in hants, works in hants, supports... LeicestER?
copunk Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 I have to say to, im a massive believer in supporting the team where your from, however I make exceptions to people from Leicester who support other teams, aslong as they follow city and want us to do well, I cant stand to hear folk, from Leicester, who revel in the fact when we lose and aren't doing well, so Im dedicating this to all of the facebook friends I have from Leicester, who seemed to jizz their pants when we got beat by Watford in the play offs last season, cheers boys!!
Sir Shep Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Yeah, but I can see this. LeicestER? Well supporting leicester is hardly being a glory supporter! But to be fair if your dad, grandad' auntie whatever supports another club, takes you and gets you hooked then fine. My beef comes from those tw@'s who jump on the bandwagon because the hipsters say so, bunch of sheep who can't for themselves and decided to support someone because hey win all the time. It's bad enough on those rare days England do well and suddenly MP's are saying rah rah rah how spiffing that Rodney (Rooney) scoring that try er goal.
Elsie Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Yeah, but I can see this. I was born and brought up in leicestershire, then moved to hampshire. LeicestER? His Dad, my former Brother In Law was also born and raised in Leicester, as I believe his Father was - but the BIL supported Arse to be a glory hunter.
Saxondale Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Glory hunters are unfortunate but they'll never experience the agony and euphoria of genuinely supporting a team from the heart. They might think they understand but they don't. Their loss.
TrentFox Posted 6 April 2014 Posted 6 April 2014 Chardonnay always tastes like sour grapes, no matter the context.
BottomFeeder Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Right, which club or individual do you hope is reading or hearing about Leicester City's promotion and is really gutted by it? For me it has to be Plymouth Argyll. Although Plymouth long ago returned to Division Four football, in other words their level, I have long awaited the time when we would be thrust into the limelight of Premier League football and they would have a constant reminder of how, for a brief glorious period of their history, they considered themselves our rivals. Would they listen to reason that they were just a small club on a purple patch? Would they bollox. Well...the proof is in the pudding and we are chomping on our millionaires shortcake they can continue to feed off the scraps which fall to the bottom feeders. I don't wish to bring bad news to you at what should be, as you say, a time of celebration and euphoria, but I don't think any of us mind your promotion, certainly I've never got any impression any Argyle fan wanted you to fail. I was even a bit pleased, I quite like Leicester, there's certanly a lot of clubs I'd be far less happy to see in the Premier League. I know the Holloway thing got to us but there was never any great animosity toward your club (barring a few idiots on online forums perhaps) and it's been years since any of us have given your lot any thought at all. All I might be reminded of when I see you in the Premier League in relation to Argyle is this post and the surprising knowledge that anyone in Leicester has even the slightest care about what we think of them down here. Anyway, apologies for taking up space on your forum. I genuinely want to wish you the best of luck next season, I hope you all enjoy your shortcake.
Houdini Logic Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Stoke fans. I pray to whoever above that we send them down in the final game next season
Guest Bilo Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I sincerely hope that there are more than a few Forest, Coventry, Bristol City, Watford and Cardiff fans crying into their breakfasts right now.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Stoke fans. I pray to whoever above that we send them down in the final game next season We beat them to ensure our safety and sending them down and invade the pitch 2 minutes before the end? Amen
WardyisPukka Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Stoke and hoping we send them down next season Watford - tinpot club and shit fans ,shit ground Forest/Derby/Cov - for obvious reasons
Jace Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 I seem to remember Plymouth fans in the days of us taking Hollowhead from them saying that they'd make it to the prem before us... As someone from the Plymouth area I never remember any of them saying that.

LeicestER? Completely disagree. If I have kids while living up in Wales they will be Leicester fans and they will not have a say in the matter! Geography or dad, the only 2 valid reasons I accept from people.
