Why do people care so much about losing?

I just don't get it. I didn't go to the game, but you buy a ticket to watch a football match with two teams playing. Anyone can win. Why do fans leave early. It's a football match. Yes you support Leicester but I enjoy watching football in general. Not only all that but we are already promoted. When I go to a match I watch the opposition too. I'm sure a lot of fans that go aren't proper fans of football. I just dont get them at all. Really am not bothered about losing tonight whatsoever.

In this case I reckon if people said they'd rather go walk into traffic and cause a car crash rather than watch one unfold in front of their eyes it'd be fair.

On the flip side I stayed, saw a great goal, viewed one fan get himself banned for next season, got to see riot police feel smug as they lined the pitch, but most importantly applaud the players for a phenomenal season. Despite a disapointing night.

I don't leave early personally, but 4-0 down and a dismal display I won't knock those who want to beat the traffic, especially with tonight's bumper crowd

Don't mind getting beat by a better team, but the way you lose pisses people.

Let's be honest nobody likes losing, not just football but to lose without really trying, is a bitter pill to swallow.

When prices went up and the PL gained prominence seemed to change.

 

When I started going in the 90's it was all about atmosphere, friends, family, having a laugh and enjoying a day at the footy, if you won and had a good season it was a bonus.

 

Now some people can't enjoy it even if you are promoted and haven't lost for months, it's more about doing what you are told, making sure nobody sings any bad songs and above making sure no one enjoys themselves too much. Reflection of the sheep like society we have come to live in.

 

Rather depressing and should be resisted by anyone with spirit in their blood.

 

No one likes losing, winning is important, but something has changed in the last 10-15 years.

It was the manner of the defeat abject performance from the players we were piss poor all over the park.

 

One or two good passages of play but apart from that we were nowhere near good enough, their is still a title to be won, then the players can get pissed to their hearts content but until that point work your bollocks off.

In 53 years maybe gone through nearly 1000 defeats / poor performances - so what, I love my team - I always get upset at so called supporters having a go - are they perfect at their jobs?? No they are probably useless.

The lads were trying but clearly the intensity was missing, hopefully a one off, will be at Reading next Monday, hopefully normal service resumed!

I bet if you took a screen shot of the bottom half of the kop at any given moment you'd find it hard to find a smile, even when we're winning.

I have absolutely no idea what people were expecting after the weekend's celebrations and playing against a team who have a lot more to fight for. It's a shame the players didn't have a bit more time to recover but that's just how it worked out.

It's annoying we lost the unbeaten run but there's absolutely nothing to suggest that it was anything other than a one-off.

We'll be back to our best on Monday, no doubt.
