The thought of us finishing three places below Man Utd is absolutely amazing really.

What I like about this thread, although it really is far too early for predictions with so much to happen during the Summer, is the overall level headedness (is that a word) of the majority of City fans who are posting. The expectations for most would be a finish somewhere in the middle teens which for me would represent a steady return to the top flight. Whilst we all secretly hope for better, the reality is that our management team and squad are generally fledglings in the top flight and will have to learn quickly if we are to survive.

We will enter the season with a settled management in place who know and understand each other and the direction the club wants to go and a squad of players who in the majority not only share the same understanding but also know what is required of them to be considered worthy of putting on the shirt. These factors alone should be sufficient to ensure that the season becomes a platform for further advancement in season two back in the Premiership.

With that said it is then probably fair to say that Aston Villa who the owner wants to sell and West Brom who have recently parted company with their latest manger will not be as well prepared as we are and may well struggle. Also look at what happens at Tottenham over the next few weeks, if their attention turns to Southampton for a new manager then the South coast club may be searching for a new manager and with the big clubs looking to pick off most of their talent whoever takes over there will have a serious task on their hands.

I don't in reality, just redressing the balance. Any teams coming up with records as good as Burnley and Leicester's very rarely finish bottom. I just think the "pound notes" comment have clouded too many peoples judgement on here.

They definitely have, 90% of people loved burnley here until that comment.

The comment made by a gutted manager minutes after a defeat in his biggest game of the season? Perhaps he should have given Nigel a blowy in the tunnel instead.

lol

I wouldn't worry, we love a moan on here and there wasn't much to moan about last season so this has been magnified.

It's going to be a tough old season for both of us but personally I can't wait

Me too. There's a few clubs in there that are in turmoil, and the form of several clubs at the end of last season should give us both plenty of hope.

No it's the comment made numerous times in the last couple of months.

Perhaps he should have had a bit of respect for a fellow manager.

+1 for hilarity. lol

I disagree that it's "clouded" most people's judgement.  It's just made us realise that for all his capability, Sean Dyche is one mahoosive cvnt.  Most have acknowledged that Burnley finished where they did on merit, and that they have a great team.  Indeed I've not seen much animosity towards Burnley fans either, but gravel throat's antics make it very difficult for us to have any respect for him.

Instead of being sanctimonious about our attitude to Dyche, Mr Claret should be more concerned that their manager has such an antagonising effect and is giving them a bad name.

I should be concerned that a bunch of Leicester fans don't like Dyche because they don't think he gives Leicester enough credit? Are you being serious? He's only got a bad name on here.

Sorry, I really don't want to hijack your thread, I've left my prediction ( The 2nd one ) I'll leave you to it.

We're the standout example because being the only team above you, we bore the brunt of his bitterness.  Don't think that means his lack of class has gone unnoticed.  There was serious speculation that this is why Pearson got the nod for MOTS ahead of him.
