Hello.

I own a very old iPod. One of the originals from 2004 or something like that. Anyway it is 20GB and full of music however I don't have all this music backed up on my computer as it has been sourced from various different places.

If I buy a new iPod how do I transfer the library on my current iPod to a new one?

Please don't say don't buy an iPod. I'm going to. If that makes me a fool so be it. My primary concern is not losing my music collection.

Thank you very much.

Can't you back it all onto a computer? You can buy an iPod to iPod docking thingy...it was in T3 the other month but I'd hate to imagine what the transfer time would be for an entire iPod rather than just track sharing.

When I view the iPod files on my computer they are all arranged in a weird way. You might expect there to be a folder for each album or something like that but there's just shitloads of folders with no particular order. If I transfer these on to my computer I wonder how I can get these on to a new iPod so that they are sorted by album/artist, etc.

The iPod to iPod transfer thingy sounds like the answer. Excuse my ignorance but what is T3?

EDIT: just seen it's a gadget website...

Also from searching looks like there may be some software that allows you to do it... anyone know a good one?

I just got Windows Vista. What drivers do I need to download to install on it my Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop from this list?

Any help appreciated :)

Why don't you install the drivers need?

Either that or just install this seeing as it is far better.

With iPodCopy you can...

Copy music, playlists, podcasts and video from your iPod to your computer (PC or Mac). Backup all your music and video in a couple of mouse clicks.

Transfer iPod songs, playlists and video directly into iTunes. You can also transfer your Album Art, Ratings, Play Count and other song data.

Backup all of your iPod Music, Movies and Playlists at the touch of a button. Backup your iPod to your PC or iTunes. ( New )

Search for music on your iPod. The search results can be saved to your computer or transferred into iTunes as a playlist.

Play music and video on your iPod through your PC without having iTunes installed. Use iPodCopy to change your music rating.

_______________

Your iPod does much more than just music, with a little help from iPodCopy...

View and save Photos on your iPod to your computer.

Save your games from your iPod to your computer or directly back into your iTunes library. From there, you can load them back to your iPod.

View, Edit and Create notes on your iPod. Create Folders to better organize Notes on your iPod.

I've just gone and bought myself a new laptop. The Toshiba A300D-13X to be precise. It's quality but I can't seem to connect to the wireless network that exists in my house. The network appears and I can click connect, but every time I do it says it could not connect due to a lack of response from the router or access point. Clearly the router is working else I couldn't be typing this! lol

Any ideas on how I can resolve this problem because as it stands my shiny new toy is pretty damn useless!?

Ive just pressed some random keys and the layout on my screen is different. I have to put my cursor at the top of the screen to view the toolbar's etc. because theyve disappeared.

What do I do to get it back?

Urgent - Does anyone know of some Free Data Recovery Software as I've accidentally deleted some photos that were 'mirrored' on an external drive and they've disappeared from my c drive.

Yours in desperation.

I know of no "free" software but I do know of some you don't have to pay for

Scrub that, this stuff I found while trying to locate the one I used has a free trial

Thanks Daggers but unfortunately it only finds and doesn't allow recovery with the free trial.

Recover My Files is what I use.

Recover My Files is a tool to recover deleted files, including documents, graphics, digital camera photographs, Zip files, email, music, video and more.

Recover My Files can recover files emptied from the Recycle Bin, from a formatted disk or lost due to a system crash or virus infection. The user friendly interface provides a simple 4 step wizard that lets you select the file types to scan for and the drive.

Recover My Files then searches every sector of your hard drive to recognize deleted files by their internal format. The results show you the status (chance of recovery) for each file and it also provides a viewer that allows you to view the content of the file (text, image etc.).

The evaluation version only displays the files found and chance of recovery, but it does not allow to recover any files.

Here are some key features of "Recover My Files":

· Recover deleted files even if emptied from the Recycle Bin

· Recover formatted hard drives, even if you have reinstalled Windows!

· Recover your files after a hard disk crash

· Get back files after a partitioning error

· Recover documents, photos, video music & email.

· Recover from hard drive, camera card, USB, Zip, floppy disk or other removable media

How can I attach a file to my post? I don't seem to be able to do so...

I will attach the zip file of the installation and crack etc. if you want

but here's the thing when I do a search for the missing pictures they appear to be there, but when I look at the actually file location there's nothing there. :dunno::frusty:

Can you save the pictures again when you've searched for them?

Thanks I'll try that, I'm using Pirifirm Recuva at the moment.

Sounds like you need a file extension fixer. For example, the JpegFixer

Why not just use Pandora? RMF is only a trial.

Not if you have the crack

When they're listed in the search results the folders don't have any size, when I click on them the message I get says they are no longer in that location, yet it found the original location.

I've tried 2 products now and manage to retrieve over 6000 jpegs but not the ones I was looking for, some of the pictures it retrieved I've never seen in my life and this a newish pc. :dunno:
