Millions of workers will have to give back an average of 300 to the taxman after paying too little They haven't been overcharged or anything like that...
separator Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 I haven't changed jobs or got a pay rise but my tax code changed for this financial year, I get paid every 2 weeks but now have an extra fiver in my pay packet. In your face taxman (unless its a mistake of course)

separator Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 Maybe you're one of the ones this article is talking about.... Maybe, but the article refers to the 13/14 tax year. My tax code changed in april for the 14/15 tax year. My brother used to work for Severn Trent and underpaid for a couple of years and got clobbered with a tax bill. I used to work as a contractor with a limited company, paid far less tax than I probably should have, and got a tax rebate when I dissolved the limited company. Who knows how the tax man works.

That'll be the increase in the tax free allowance taking effect. Most workers will have seen their pay go up because of it, and it'll go up again by a greater amount next year. Nice to finally see a government doing something that directly benefit people who get up for work every day for a change, isn't it? No wonder the spongers are up in arms. "Where's my free money? I deserve it I'm entitled to it!"
MooseBreath Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Exactly. It's about time people who work for a living got to dish out a bit of schadenfreude for a change isn't it? It's been the spongers laughing at the working man for far too long. Absolutely superb that that's all changing. Just need to cut housing benefit and get spongers in shared houses next and things might almost resemble some kind of normality again.

I'd have thought concentration camps were more your thing - you must be getting soft..
Strokes Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Shared houses? I'd have thought concentration camps were more your thing - you must be getting soft..People in concentration camps earnt their keep.
Buce Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 People in concentration camps earnt their keep. Ffs, Strokes, I expect better than that from you. Turning into another Moosebreath does you no credit whatsoever.
MooseBreath Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Shared houses? I'd have thought concentration camps were more your thing - you must be getting soft.. What an absolutely ridiculous statement. Give me any reason why a healthy welfare recipient shouldn't be given a room in a shared house instead of their own flat.
Webbo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Ffs, Strokes, I expect better than that from you. Turning into another Moosebreath does you no credit whatsoever. Accusing people of being in favour of concentration camps does you no credit either.
Jon the Hat Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 I do get bored of these stories. Your tax isnt actually assessed until the end if the tax year.
MPH Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Rincewind. The Kings of trolls. Starts a thread with a 100% inaccurate title then sits back to watch the fallout.

Give me any reason why a healthy welfare recipient shouldn't be given a room in a shared house instead of their own flat. Can you think of any reason why you would not want to be forced to share a house with a stranger?
Finnaldo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Can you think of any reason why you would not want to be forced to share a house with a stranger? A lot of people do. There's no reason why someone can't share a house with someone they don't know.
DennisNedry Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Can you think of any reason why you would not want to be forced to share a house with a stranger? Who said forced? Should be take it or leave it.
Rincewind Posted 22 June 2014 Author Posted 22 June 2014 A lot of people do. There's no reason why someone can't share a house with someone they don't know. Come on people, I am sure somebody can come up with one type of person you would not want to share a house with.
Webbo Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Come on people, I am sure somebody can come up with one type of person you would not want to share a house with. But homeless people are not necessarily drug addicts or mentally ill, they're just ordinary people who have had bad luck, most of them have jobs. Why would anyone object to sharing a house with them?

Why would anyone object to sharing a house with them? I bet Moose would. He thinks they are all smelly tramps. Anyway I never said the other person was homeless. Ask your missus. What type of person would you not want as a neighbour then? I am sure you are not all bosom buddies with yours. Apart from Matt of course whose neighbour is five miles away.

AoWW Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 I think you're confusing me with someone who gives a fvck what you think. Bit unnecessary.
