Hope it's better than tonight's game! I had Argentina from the start. Now I think Germany. All depends if Gemany score first. Then it should be a great game.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 Germany for me, they will tear apart Argentina if they (Argentina - added for Col) try and sit back and defend.

They will tear Argentina apart if they DONT sit back and defend. Like Brazil.. Give the Germans too much space and they will exploit it. Argentinas best game plan is to do exactly what they do. Sit back, soak up and give the ball to Messi to make it happen. And that's how they will play. That's why it's important, as a spectacle for Germany to score first.

If Argentina sit back and defend, no need to appologise Forgive me for ignoring the tatical genius who wanted Pearson gone before we ended up going on to have one of our best seasons ever. Oh wait sorry forgot, Col is never wrong! Get a life Col it's getting a bit sad, even a heartless bastard like me is feeling sorry for you.
Grandad. Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 Germany win then I will bank £160 from a predictions League, so i;ll be rooting for them! Really hope it's a thrilling World Cup Final, Germany have obviously hit top gear now, I don't think Argentina have yet, that is my only concern for them, they could be blown away early doors like Brazil were.
Amin Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 The last two teams I wanted to win the World Cup have reached the final. I hope Germany win, I couldn't bear it if Argentina won the World Cup on Brazilian soil.
Dan Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 I'm seriously struggling to look past Germany now. I don't think they're the sort who'd get carried away after last night either. Argentina haven't seriously impressed me all tournament. Their biggest win has been 3-2 against Nigeria. Every single game they've got out of jail with a bit of magic. I can't help but feel it'll run out eventually. That said, they've defended very well throughout this to be fair. Add this to Germany having played only 90 minutes, with an extra days rest, with the game sewn up before the half hour mark. They'll be in better condition and I think it'll see them through.
Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 Argentina. Just feel it's there time again. Germany are no doubt the better side but sides often have a comedown after a huge performance. Should be like a home game for Argentina as well, God knows how many they'll bring and unlike the middle class Brazilians it might sound like a proper South American match.
Tom17LCFC Posted 9 July 2014 Posted 9 July 2014 after the 2010 WC I thought Germany would win this one, 4 years for their 'golden generation' to mature. Wanna stick by them but got a feeling the argies are gonna snatch it.

If they can get tickets, no doubt most of the finals tickets are for corprates and the wealthy
MikeyT Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 As much as it pains me to say it, I think Germany will win it.
Jimothy Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Want Germany to win. The person nobody likes at work got Argentina in the sweepstake, so really really want Germany to win.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Cmon then Socceroo, get it right! Any chance you can make a sensible post and not use emoticons? Or even just a sensible post?

With respect Soccerroo, it was you who posted something I didn't agree with, then quickly changed it around to try to suggest you didn't. Theres no need to keep on about it, we all do it! What do you expect me to do, agree with you because you're Soccerroo? When I don't. Is that how it works?

It's ok Col, you're are a tatical genius who's always right who has nothing more going on with your life outside of this forum. Myself i have no footballing brain and there for no right to post my opinions when i stated Germany will win like the majority of voters and posters and due to the fact Argentina will sit back and defend like they have been doing the last few games. But oh well, I wont lose sleep about. Enjoy your day i'm sure it will be a fulfilling one for you.
Rocket-Ron Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Will the winners get to keep the trophy like Brazil did with the Jules Rimet?

I have a feeling that however the Argentinians play, the Germans will turn them over this time. And bang goes my pre-tournament bet on Argentina!! Whatever you're up to buddy, have a good un. Duty calls..
MC Prussian Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 From a logical perspective, Germany is bound to win this with a two goal margin in 90 minutes. They've by far played the most efficient and deadly football at this tournament, always went out with concise attacking intent. However... From a sportive point of view, I'd love Argentina to win this. You might call me sad, but I remember pretty vividly how excrutiating the 1990 final was and how negative Argentina were against Germany back then. Two sending offs, nasty tackles, individual clashes on the pitch and an Argentina side that only went in for it hoping for a penalty shootout. Keeping that in mind, there's something within me that wants the Albiceleste to overcome the demons and play better, decent and honest football in a WC final again.
Nalis Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Think Germany Hope Argentina Both teams would be worthy winners. Above all, just hoping for a great final and not two teams sitting back.
