JoeyB Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Alright guys, how we all doing??? Basically just brought meself a house and the boiler i have is as about as old as Milan, think its on its last legs haha. So looking at getting a new boiler and have had quotes for Baxi boilers and Valiant boiler, does any one know anything about boilers and want to give me any tips or reviews and stuff? cheers
Stadt Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I thought this was going to be some incredible Ric Flair story.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 All I can tell you is that the two plumbers I know both recommend Worcester Bosch. I've had two and a half trouble free years from mine, which isn't long I know
JoeyB Posted 10 July 2014 Author Posted 10 July 2014 Well the person who has given me a quote for one has quoted be for a baxi boiler, seeing as i know nothing about them i was wondering if anyone could advise me about them, if they have had one or a friend has had one and know how reliable they are etc
Jon the Hat Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Get yourself a Worcester Bosch fitted by one of their accredited installers. Mine is amazingly better than the shit old one it replaced.
Collymore Posted 13 July 2014 Posted 13 July 2014 I had a baxi duotec combi installed last year and it has been spot on. It has a 7 year parts and labour waranty as long as you get it serviced each year at a cost of £50 a time. It came with a wireless themostat which is the best thing since sliced bread. You need to make sure the boiler has enough power to handle your house. Your engineer should calculate this for you depending on the number of radiators and bathrooms. I think baxi do quite a few versions that all look the same but have different outputs. The higher the output the more expensive. Also if its replacing a very old system they will probably have to flush it and connect pipes to an outside drain for the condensing aspect, this will cost a bit more than a simple straight replacment.
Webbo Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 You want to check see if you can get a grant to replace your boiler. The govt are doing a lot like that on this green energy deal.
Raj Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 we had a worcester 28cdi at old house. After a frw teething issues covered by warranty it did the job.Wiessman are supposed to be dogs bollox too
