Once a player gets into their 30's generally it's the ones who have looked after

themselves that can play at a high standard for longer. I don't think Ronny falls

I've seen you post some absurd things but this has to be up there. I'm all for him signing but players nowadays are SO much stronger, fitter and faster than they were even 25 years ago.

I don't really agree about fitness. Sure players have a better method of keeping fit now, but going back to the 60s; pitches were far heavier due to poor drainage, which made it far heavier on the legs. The old fashioned heavy leather ball, made life harder, and that combined with the pitch made it a far more tiring game than today( I got a few headaches from not heading it properly). The football boots themselves were far heavier. Another vastly important factor was that there were no substitutes in those days, so it was a full ninety minutes for the whole team. Trust me, those players were truly fit.

 

I totally agree that the level of fitness is far more intense these days, but those factors I have mentioned above, probably balance it out

I agree with you, this is the reason why players like giggs and Pirlo have managed to have prolonged successful careers.

I personally couldn't say wether ronny has looked after himself as I don't know but can only go by stats and play time pretty much like what everyone else is doing with cambiasso

To be perfectly honest with you mate I'm really not fussed what people's spelling or grammar is on here.

It's a forum about fans opinions regarding Leicester City and not an online school exam, who knows what people's age/abilities and learning difficulties are, as long as I can understand what their opinion is I'm really not bothered.

 

It's bugs me when people don't say "Cheers, I'll remember that for next time".

 

People's willingness to go through life not knowing basic spelling and grammar is nuts.

It's widely reported that he puts on weight/misses training/parties too much. It seems like you're just willfully ignoring all info available to you just for an argument.

Well that's just basic manners to say thanks/cheers and not suggesting that in the post.

If everyone was to put cheers, I'll remember that for next time in a post or during a conversation wouldn't it come across a little arrogant/patronising?

As I said before I'm really not bothered if people have his, he has, he's, he is, weather, whether, wether etc etc it's a forum about LCFC

See of it how you want, I'm just stating my opinion regarding a signing, if we all sang from the same hymn sheet then each thread would be a little boring wouldn't it?

I do favour Ronny little more because believe he has been one of the best players around, but was just using it as an example of a player same age, reputation, ability and free that everyone classed as too old before but is now going overboard now were linked to cambiasso

A few weeks ago I put a post out suggesting if you'd have ronaldinho at lcfc and the majority said they wouldn't have him as he was 'too old' or 'past it'

Now we've been linked with Cambiasso everyone wants him on board, Ronny is the same age, more accolades, more clubs and international titles and was worth a hell of a lot more than cambiasso.

What's the difference?

Many on here think that Cambiasso is more of a team player and more reliable than Ronaldinho and less of a marquee signing, anyway.

Ronaldinho is skill and flair and you could argue that is not what this team needs right now in order to stay competitive and in the Premier League for the next couple of years.

Also, Cambiasso has proven to be a stalwart in defensive midfield in the past six, seven seasons - whereas Ronaldinho has a troubled injury history as of late.

 

Wages come into play - I can but assume Ronaldinho demands a lot more than Cambiasso. And it would be costlier to buy Ronaldinho out of his current contract with Atlético Mineiro, as opposed to Cambiasso, who is a free agent.

Yeah I don't believe it's the way forward, I'm not saying why are we not signing ronny. I made a thread a few weeks ago asking if you'd take ronny here and many said they wouldn't because was too old and was comparing ronny and cambiasso with age etc.

Are these the same players in the 60's that had an ashtray on top of their towel in the changing rooms? Players nowadays are far fitter, the pace and intensity of the game is not the same as the 60's.

It's really annoying now all the ITK's saying he's signing he's had numerous meetings medicals etc lets just let this one lie a bit and just wait and see.

So instead of working yourselves up about if he signs,then just wait if he wants to sign he will or won't when his signatures on the contract then we can look forward to see him in a city shirt.

Cambiasso will be an excellent signing for us and great for the younger players to learn from,but ATM I feel it's like a who's going to give the better financial deal as it could really be his last move and you can't blame him !!

So let's just wait and see there's no use losing sleep over the will he won't he saga, but let's hope he does let's just wait for the official announcement where he goes !!
