Always a bit disconcerting when a player waits this long. You get the feeling we might just be a backup option and that he might not put his all into it if he were to be left with only us to sign for.

Can understand a player weighing up his options but it does start to feel like they might be holding out for something else if they take this much time.

No it's not. I've recently accepted a new job. Did I accept it before waiting to hear from the other two I interviewed with? No, I'm not an idiot.

What matters is where he ends up - if he goes somewhere else then yes he doesn't want to come here.

With respect, Im not sure there is a similarity. Unless off course you were being offered 5m for your services.

5m that has to be paid by somebody. Increased ticket prices maybe. At lcfc us the fans do want to be sure he wants to come here to put a proper shift in. And not for an easy pension top up

Unfortunately not, unless they decide to pay me in Vietnamese Dong.

The point is it's relative.  If two other clubs have offered similar terms as us, why can't he take the time to meet representatives from each club and make a decision?  He's been at the same club for years and is making his next career move.  Just because he does this doesn't mean he doesn't want to play for us - he's just human.  This whole "if he wanted to be here he'd have signed by now" is naive and a load of balls.  Barcelona and Real Madrid are two of very few clubs in the world that would ever hold that kind of authority.

People just need to be patient.  If he signs then he wants to be here.  If he doesn't, then he doesn't.

Liverpool, Man city, Chelsea are teams that can afford to have expensive players just pottering around their squads and not really worry.

We on the other hand have to be very selective on how we spend our money. Mr Cambiasso would surely know this before they came for talks.

We cannot move forward until this is sorted. They are taking us for idiots, and to be honest we are obliging them. We all know deep down that if they do come back with the thumbs up, its going to feel like the other teams have said no thanks.

There's no way any of us have the slightest idea of what's being discussed between the club and Mr. Cambiasso. That would be a good thing to keep in mind before saying that anyone is taking the club for a bunch of fools.

I'm sure each hour that goes by feels like an eternity to people who are spending their days refreshing Twitter feeds and complaining.

It's not just what he wants though, if he's not going to sign we need to pursue other options before the window shuts. I think we ought to give him a deadline to decide or move on.

I'm going off him now anyone that wants to be here for football reasons at his age would be thinking the season has already started and should have started pre season training ages ago he is going to be well behind and thats why a decision really should have taken more of a priority than it currently is

Not going to say anymore than John Percy mentions the fact we spoke again to his representatives today, also stating what we already know re Rod Fanni.

Whether we get him in now or not, the intent to sign someone in this area is key in my opinion.

Dare I say this is exactly what his agent wanted, using us to get him a better deal elsewhere? anyway I would much rather put that money toward's A new left-back even though Konchesky did well on saturday.

I don't buy into the whole 'he won't up a shift in', you don't win everything he has with out having he right attitude. However, as with most footballers/people they are greedy so if someone comes along offering more dough then they'll prob choose them. Hopefully nobody does.

I think if he wanted to play for us he'd have been here by now. Surprised Pearson hasn't pulled out of it as that's often said as most important in signing a player.

maybe as alluded to much earlier, its not nigel pearsons signing to pull the plug on. Just a thought.

He's not coming :(, just had an interesting chat with someone at the club, thanks to Mr. Balloon head he's been offered several other deals, some less than ours but there's talk of a team in Europe making an offer. It seems this ones lost, hope it's BS, but it made sense what he told me.
