jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 London and higher wages have got to be a far prettier proposition than lower wages and Leicester. Come on You are right, everything else is in our favour. However the latter two probably matter more to certain people especially foreign imports. you're right but I doubt EC needs the money. I would have thought he would want one final challenge which he would get with us. To be fair he would get a challenge at QPR but if you look at the way the 2 clubs have been run (which he probably doesn't know much about) we are a far better run team and business as a whole. EC would be adored here, not sure it would be the same at QPR. I am biased, I know I am, I just hate Arry, I hate QPR and hate the way they throw money at things to try and get immediate success
Mark_w Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Fcuk me! Is there anyone Harry Redknapp isn't after?! Just Lee Cattermole.
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Fcuk me! Is there anyone Harry Redknapp isn't after?! he normally brings a load of players in on deadline day as well, doing dodgy deals out of his car window! There genuinely isn't anything to like about him, he's a total twat!
Super hoop Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Hold on. You think that Park Ji Sung has the pedigree of Cambiasso? My point was that we have signed players with big reputations, CL winners, caps etc. in reply to a jibe about Barton. Attitude is the main thing. If he comes to you with a drive and desire, ok. If he turns up for one last payday like those three that's when you have problems.
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Just Lee Cattermole. don't get Col started again, he's already wasted 15 pages of this thread
Super hoop Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 He's not that high calibre if you can't spell his name Ha ha. That's because I've spent the last two years calling him Boswanker
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Who's this high calibre boss winger the r's signed? this made me laugh!
MattGamble92 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Trying to be as objective as possible, here are the selling points of both clubs: Leicester * Promoted as champions * Manager who isn't an idiot * Balanced squad in which players are treated fairly * Top stadium and training facilities * Stable ownership QPR * In London * Will probably pay daft money This is all true. If you are a player looking at the bigger picture, regular playing time in a well run club with a good team spirit or virtually the opposite but one big pay day then it will really show the type of man he is, or at least the type of ambition he has at this stage of his career
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Ha ha. That's because I've spent the last two years calling him Boswanker fair play to you, you've taken a bit of stick but you seem like a nice guy. Genuine question, being a QPR fan, can you understand why lots of fans from other teams really dislike QPR and Redknapp? I know obviously you support your team and will always defend them, just like I do with Leicester, but you must see why people hate QPR and Redknapp
AKCJ Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 By their agent. Hmm, perhaps I should have worded that better. An agent will offer his client to everyone who wants (and can afford) him So saying that he's been offered to QPR seems a bit strange as it's surely them that has contacted the agent rather than the other way around? Surely the likely version of events were; -We became interested in him. -Details of contract leaked. -QPR realise he's going cheap. -QPR contact agent. -Agent listens to their offer.

I think agents do contact clubs though and try touting the player. They will always try and get a better deal for thier client and if they haven't had many offers then they may start offering their client to other clubs

From the fans point of view it's only about 12 years ago when we were in admin and were having bucket collections. We then had the mad time of Bernie and Flavios with a new manager every week. Then Fernandes took over clicking money around but I really think they have learnt their lesson. From a fans point of view talk to any of them andthey want someone with money to take over but when they do everyone else starts hating you. Pretty neutral about Redknapp and I'd say there are more anti than for him among the fans
bluesbrothers Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Harry Redknapp is football's equivalent of a dog in heat, furiously humping anything that moves until he spooges over something and then claims it as his own.

They put Sven in charge and we tried signing every player under the sun and spent stupid amounts of money and wages on average players. But our owners have learnt and now under Nige we've built a good young squad and have a financially sound club. You say you've learnt but Ferdinand must be on a wedge. And then you've been linked to Diarra who's rumoured to be on £80k a week. It's silly amounts of wages for a club your size regardless of how rich your owners are. If your owners pulled out you would end up like pompey. If.our owners pulled out we would be financially stable. Nige has always had a business mind and wants whats best for the club both on and off the pitch where as Arry as always just spent shit loads of money and claims he doesn't know how much players earn and how much the transfer fees are.

One of the problems with Harry as manager is that agents link us with every player going so I wouldn't worry about Diarra too much, like Cambiasso. After all we have only signed four players this window, including one loan and a free. Ferdinand apparently took a "massive"pay cut, rumoured to be from 200k to 30k because he wanted to come back to London with Harry for a team where he would get plenty of PL game time in his last season.

Harry still has a bad reputation though. John Utaka was apparently on £70K a week at pompey. I need say no more!
Leicesterpool Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 The whole thing of Cambiasso 'being offered' to QPR annoys me a bit. He's had a perfectly good offer from us, a team who finished higher than QPR last year, have a better ground, facilities, youth setup and business plan and yet he still feels that QPR would be a better option. Seems odd to me. Other than the fact they are in London and they may offer higher wages, there generally is no other reasons to join them over us! London nightlife
Captain... Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Regarding Cambiasso, and other clubs, he is seemingly looking for an English club to play for, and it appears we are front runners, but until he signs for us he can and will be looking into other options. The season starts in 5 days and he will want a club asap, if there is any hold up in this deal any issues over pay, medicals, or anything he will have back up deals lined up rather than starting from scratch. I so want this to happen, but I am also confident that if Nige isn't happy he will pull out of the deal. Should he do so then I will respect his judgement and would be happy for QPR to pick up our rejects.
BlueSi13 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I have personally enjoyed people saying how, 'at his age', he might like to spend his days with his feet up in the peace and quiet of the country away from the ghastly hustle and bustle of the city. He's 33 guys, not 63!
Yuki! Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I've just been told the deal has been completed.. Esteban Cambiasso a leicester player, Standard.

This is a good point about Harry. From the outside looking in at QPR it looks as if you have just carried on with the senseless spending under Fernandez but then again we still had that reputation long after Sven left and it simply isn't the case. A high profile manager will be contacted daily with players on Cambiasso's level of profile and combined with the funds available it just looks like it's a case of buying and buying and not really looking at the squad (like Sven) But I suppose arry has always known how to spend the wonga so he isn't really the man you want if you're planning on moving on from the big spending culture
SlaneyLCFC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I've just been told the deal has been completed. #ITK #Swag #YOLO ?
