I'm not being funny and he may well have been keeping himself fit but please bear in mind he's had no pre-season, I'm not so sure if I agree with putting a 33 year old with no pre season behind him straight into the team. Depends on whether Hammond is fit to play - if he's not we're down to GTF or the kids alongside king. In that scenario, bugger the lack of a preseason, he's one of two senior centre mids capable of walking, he's in.

I still think he'd play GTF or a kid infront of an unfit/match ready Cambiasso and risk injury to such a marquee signing.
