lcfcsnow Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 What do we expect we've got two kids in midfield and the only help they've got is from GTF.
Grewks Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 I won't be feeling so confident going into Sunday's game if we don't win here. Â Â Â The biggest factor with regards to sunday is arsenal, not us. Â If they turn up and play 100% there is nothing we can do anyway.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 4 - 1 Leicester you heard it here first, Â get your cash on it asap.
CosbehFox Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 This reminds me of 2 seasons ago It reminds me of a season ago when it took a last minute winner and extra time to see Wycombe off.
Stadt Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 We've been poor so far, the kids in midfield are getting overrun but they aren't being helped out, GTF is helping Shrewsbury out with a foul every ten minutes
Grewks Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Do not understand why people want a cup run. Â Â Unless we win it, the effects are only negative.
ADK Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Well Pearson basically said he was going to throw this match in his post Chelsea interview.

Guest Bilo Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Do not understand why people want a cup run. Â Â Unless we win it, the effects are only negative. Â Beg to differ. Â Winning is a good habit to get into, the fans enjoy cup runs and it can build momentum. The 4-3 win over Fulham and subsequent run to the quarter finals in this competition last year didn't do us any harm.
bovril Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 In sport, there is nothing negative about winning. To suggest otherwise is lunacy.
MHC Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 The biggest factor with regards to sunday is arsenal, not us. If they turn up and play 100% there is nothing we can do anyway. That's not my point, I wont be betting on Leicester this weekend when I'm down the bookies that's for sure. My confidence going into that game is driven by the hope we play the way we did against Chelsea for the first hour, but for the whole match against Arsenal. A result is achievable if we do that and I will always hold on to that hope but losing tonight will turn that confidence into nerves, I fear that we may get thrashed on Sunday and that won't be good for the players mentality so early in the season. I will be satisfied with a close 2-1 defeat against Arsenal, I will be terrified if we lose 4-0.
Master Fox Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 I feel discontent creeping into our great club again. Reminiscent of dark times. We need a lift.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Beg to differ. Â Winning is a good habit to get into, the fans enjoy cup runs and it can build momentum. The 4-3 win over Fulham and subsequent run to the quarter finals in this competition last year didn't do us any harm. Â And on the flip side the Huddersfield FA cup defeat ruined us the season before. Â We could really do with winning this tbh, would do the confidence good, might be worth risking Nugent and King for 30 minutes if things don't change, and perhaps give Hopper a run for GTF.
ADK Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Well the obvious point is that a team from the premier league has a very real chance of winning this cup and getting into Europe. We're probably 100x more likely to win the league cup than we are to finish in 5th.

The last few years that have been really poor after European games. The players will be up for sunday, unlike tonight, that is the main difference.
lcfcsnow Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Could not give less of a shit about this game.Good job oneill didn't have that attitude, this is our only realistic chance of winning a cup.If we lose this it could be months till we win a game.
Monsell1976 Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 Took it to easy first half, not good enough, with the right effort we will still win comfortable.

In 2 of the past 3 years, domestic cup winners in England have been relegated.  Liverpool benefited hugely last year from no European football.
iamafox Posted 26 August 2014 Posted 26 August 2014 For me there is no relation between cup runs and league runs. I would rather lose this game than get relegated.
