Shrewsbury Match Thread

I'd like a cup run because we aren't going to be finishing in the top 8, win a cup, qualify for Europe. Can't see why some peeps don't want that! Some may say survival in this league is more important but I really don't think that winning cup games makes much difference.

Well the obvious point is that a team from the premier league has a very real chance of winning this cup and getting into Europe. We're probably 100x more likely to win the league cup than we are to finish in 5th.

good point but we could also get relegated at the same time if we take our eye off the league

In 2 of the past 3 years, domestic cup winners in England have been relegated.

Liverpool benefited hugely last year from no European football.

Wigan and...?

And yet they struggled in the previous couple of years with no european football because...

In the way it enabled them to......qualify for Europe  :S

Not particularly a big deal losing in a cup game (although I would prefer a win) but it's a big deal to lose at home in any game. We should be trying to make the KP a fortress.

Going one way unless we get King on.

I don't get how people say they aren't bothered. Not only are Leicester City playing, but this is a Cup game - a trophy - something we could try and win. As we have done in the past. It's even more embarrassing losing to a lower league opposition. We got to the quaters last year, and fair play, we lost to Manchester City. The run didn't seem to hinder our progress in the league, compared to the previous year after losing to Huddersfield.

Some teams have won cups and stayed up, like er leicester, twice!!!

Plenty have....

But there is no correlation between winning cup games and having a successful league campaign.

Therefore the most important part of tonight is not getting any injuries to first team and back-up players.

Behave.

Arsenal have a tie tomorrow night where they have to start their key players.

The last few years that have been really poor after European games. The players will be up for sunday, unlike tonight, that is the main difference.

Behave? I don't need to, everything I said was pretty logical and my opinion is surely understandable for a fellow Leicester fan. I remember Wycombe in the FA Cup quarter final when Peter Taylor was manager and Lawrie Sanchez was theirs. He got sent off if I remember correctly, on second thoughts no, I don't want to remember it. After that game we were sh#t for about eight years.
