purpleronnie Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I'd rather have something useful like a car, a house or clothes than spend money on an art collection. I have all those too.
lavrentis Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I have all those too. Just become a UKIP voter Lord ronnie
bovril Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 I saved all my programmes from City games. When I went back home a couple of years ago I found my Mum had sorted them all out into season by season boxes. Was quite a touching moment

FoxesAreBlue Posted 11 October 2014 Posted 11 October 2014 I had forgotten this until today when I added to the collection... Call me sad but I collect 50ps! Any with a design other than Brittania on the reverse, today by chance I got the Commonwealth Games 50p which reminded me of this thread. I used to collect all of the designs of £1 and £2 coins too but a few years ago I was brassic and needed it to spend but kept the 50s It actually came in useful once when we were having a pub quiz and the final question was how many designs of the £1 were currently in circulation at the time, well I had all of them and was 100% on the answer of 14. Didn't win unfortunately. EDIT I also have every US bank note up to $100 including the rare $2 note and 29 of the Quarters with a design for each state and a few $1 coins but they're not rare, you can get them on the NYC subway.
Wrighty22 Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Keyrings. Where ever I go i get one and its a reminder of my trip there. Must have well over 1000 and from all over the world.
Russell sprout Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Pint glasses,I like the old school pint glass with the handle the best, nothing to shout about but I've got 50-60,and add to it whenever a new Stella Artois etc pint glass comes out by accidently walking out the pub dith one, Fridge magnets for the same reason as the previos poster, and my DVD collection.
SystonFox Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 I also like a good fridge magnet. Used to collect key rings too at a younger age. Bodies is my main collection though
I am Rod Hull Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 Used to collect birds eggs when I was a kid. Risked life and limb to get to some nests, but have some great memories like being attacked by a mute swan, mobbed by rooks/starlings/lapwings, paddling across a lake on a lorry inner tube to get Canada goose eggs, chased by game keepers/farmers, falling out of trees etc. The family collection had over 100 different species. The buzz you`d get when you found something new/rare was just brill.
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 I saved all my programmes from City games. When I went back home a couple of years ago I found my Mum had sorted them all out into season by season boxes. Was quite a touching moment When I was at college one of my friends came in one morning and said he thought his mum had discovered his porn collection. She'd arranged them in volume and number order.
Webbo Posted 12 October 2014 Posted 12 October 2014 I also like a good fridge magnet. Used to collect key rings too at a younger age. Bodies is my main collection though We always get a fridge magnet from wherever we visit. We've got so many now that the freezer door points permanently north.
