foxinsocks Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 We are in a bit of a squeeze - am I the only one thinking: is it time to ask our players to stay and fight the Leicester cause rather then go off to some international festival of football.
cc_star Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 January signings! Wonder how many summer signings were left to slide by the club out of loyalty to players who quite honestly had earned it
Dan Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I don't blame them for wanting to play for their country though the cup of nations needs some serious changing. The majority of players in it play in Europe do they not?
Stadt Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I'm sure Riyad would love to give up the chance of leading Algeria to Africa cup of nations glory to lose to Newcastle at home in the FA Cup in front of 17,000 fans.
st albans fox Posted 11 December 2014 Posted 11 December 2014 I don't think Fifa will take too kindly to Jeff and Riyadh pulling out of the tournament. Infact, I suggest they would ask the FA to suspend the two pending an enquiry so we couldnt benefit from their non attendance in Eq Guinea. It's not really about the players. If their country picks them then they must attend unless injured. They could retire from international football - that would be the only route.
The Blue Moon Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Wouldn't have this problem if the English league was full of English players. Like it was in the 70s and 80s when we dominated Europe.
Dan Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Shame we're incapable of producing quality on mass then eh.
ScouseFox Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 might go on strike when riyad leaves for a month imagine how depressing it's going to be watching us then
The Railway Man Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 We are going to miss Riyad so bad. Is it bad to hope the Ebola crisis gets so bad it gets cancelled? :xmasunsure:
filbertway Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 We are going to miss Riyad so bad. Is it bad to hope the Ebola crisis gets so bad it gets cancelled? :xmasunsure: Yes! We will miss Riyad, despite what the loud minority say about him being ineffective during games. Chance to sign some other classy guy to play on the other wing when he's back though.
MC Prussian Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Wouldn't have this problem if the English league was full of English players. Like it was in the 70s and 80s when we dominated Europe. You mean, when Liverpool and *cough* Forest dominated Europe, when most European leagues were still lightyears behind in terms of youth development and training facilities and with less teams competing on a European level. Who is "we"? You identify with *cough* Forest? Go fvck yourself and die!
Bamba's Babes Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 We'll probably end up signing more Africans who will leave after a week...
muzzy1981 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Have they found a country to host it then? I heard it was in the balance
kingcarr21 Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Have they found a country to host it then? I heard it was in the balance Equatorial Guinea are the new hosts
